ConsulCaesar: Vampyr sounds fascinating but I'm on the fence because according to some reviews you are heavily penalized story-wise if you kill people and that the only way to get a "good ending" is to abstain to do vampire things. I don't usually replay games so I feel I would be missing things one way or another. Was that your experience?
I wouldn't worry too much about getting the "good ending." The game encourages drinking blood (one of the death-screen messages is "remember that the fastest way to get a lot of EXP is drinking someone"). The lesson is that you'd have to be a masochist to be a pacifist vampire :).

So why not play the game as a vampire, with the consequences that entails? Or put another way, vampires who do vampire things aren't good guys.

I wouldn't drink everyone's blood, because that's another lesson in the game: you can plunge the city into chaos if enough good people disappear.
I don't usually replay games... I feel I would be missing things one way or another
That's the rub with these games with consequences. You don't get to see everything. You might want to take into consideration whether you'd want to spend many hours of game play "doing vampire things" or seeing a couple of minutes of an ending you could look up on youtube.

dtgreene: Any opinions on Ara Fell: Enhanced Edition?

SCPM: I greatly enjoyed it, it's more than your typical RPGMaker game, though this one is built in Unity. You can save anywhere at anytime, outside of combat which is turn-based.
You inadvertently answered my own question as well regarding the quality of the game. Thanks. :)

I'm just gonna quote my post from the last Winter Sale topic:

"They really have been pushing their marketing e-mails hard lately. It would be nice to know why. I have zero interest in the free game, but I usually pick up the freebies anyway. I won't this time just to show that I don't support them pushing so hard for their marketing e-mails."

Although this time, while I am not terribly interested in the free game, I might have actually played it and even enjoyed it. Even though you can just turn off the marketing emails right after clicking it, I still won't accept it out of principle. STOP PUSHING YOUR MARKETING EMAILS! While many people can live with them/don't care, most people don't actually want them. And I highly doubt it actually increases your sales THAT much if more people receive them.

LiefLayer: Please be Skyrim or Doom 2016 or Fallout 4

Vythonaut: I'd be OK if they were to release all of them together. :P
Feels like they're leaning that way with the dripfeed of what was remaining from Bethesda's library (Or whats not tied down to Bethesda.net beyond minor integration like Dishonored 2 was, at least)

MasterofFiction: I'm just gonna quote my post from the last Winter Sale topic:

TBH, only things GOG ever sent me by email were newsletters with discounts (hidden images or not), wishlisted items going on sale, weekly sale alerts, receipts for games I bought or gifted (along with the email containing the code) and that's about it.

I've never been spammed by any 3rd party emails on behalf of GOG. They all came directly from GOG's marketing department or the department that handles purchases.

Believe me, I have my email settings geared for max security and privacy to avoid spam and phishing emails.

I strongly dislike pointless marketing emails. Bestbuy ads and Spectrum ads, ugh...99% junk emails.

Their marketing is probably the least offensive marketing I've ever had to deal with lol.
.
Now the Visa promo for the Children of Morta, that one made me uncomfortable and so I avoided it.

That felt too much like giving my info directly to Visa rather than to say my bank's credit card department, which is understandable (and unavoidable lol). Even the 1st tier support agents don't see all of your info on their screen. Not sure about the higher tiers.

Already own Brigador (wonderful game, anyone who can should definitely play it) but snagged Dusk and the Heretic+Hexen collection, this christmas sale is shaping up nicely!

Thank you gog!

Complaining about nothing, if you don't want to sign up for the sales via email then don't. I've gotten several exclusive discounts that are below the lowest price previously. My email is setup for 1 personal connection and gog, the only emails I get are from gog. Typically announcements, new demos, the particular mon/wed/friday sale, or holiday sales. Sometime exclusive sales or bundle deals.

I agree it's annoying and they push it for practically no reason but who cares, it's just their signature on every sale at this point. They probably appreciate the particular metric for current subscribers for some board meeting type shit.
If I want the freebie but not the e-mail spam, can I click on "Yes, and claim the game" and later go on https://www.gog.com/account/settings/subscriptions and revoke my consent? Will that later action override the previous consent?
Thanks for the freebie, GOG, and the "essential" bundles, which do count my owned games towards a higher discount! I was able to remove several games from my wishlist thanks to these bundles. :)
Everyone should buy Prey, an underrated masterpiece!

But man, every sale is the same: I have that one game on my wishlist and it's the only game that never gets a discount on a current sale until I am not interested anymore. Please add Chernobylite to the list.

Of course, you can turn it off right away.

I had it turned off, of course. ;-)

Since I was curious, I claimed the game. The message appeared "You can manage your privacy settings bla bla" and the settings page now looked like in the attached picture. The two green checkboxes were selected automatically and can be deselected again.

So, at least from the looks of it, nothing too shady. Unless GOG decides to ignore the setting on the settings page since one gave consent during claiming the game. ;-)

Bundles are awesome, indeed! And this time additional discounts really make a difference.
I hoped for Bethesda arrival to be bundle-like, but, well... I still hope for WadJet games to come.
