mqstout: "Surprise, GOG no longer does offline installers and is Galaxy only, and allows online only games now!"? What a mess that would be... ....
You know they would love to actually do that.

Kinda sad to see that all that is on sale is the same shit that's always been on sale for the most part and nothing actually new and good gets added to GOG in general. GOG is getting stale as fuck when it comes to any good release and the only good release are the older titles that been on sale on other platforms for years and all new generation content on this platform is arsty garbage games.

gizmomelb: what do yuo mean ''gone for good'' with Vampyr etc? Are those games being removed fromGOG?
If you're on the fence and interested I'd say get it. I actually bought it when it released here having no clue "what it was" aside from the fact that I liked the idea of playing an action RPG as a "real" vampire in that particular time period...

... it was a really surprisingly good game. Loved the combat and levelling up my guy, gorgeous dark atmosphere and fun story. Even finding out about he humans to fully "unlock" them for feeding (dark I know - but I never ate anyone!) was a fun little mini-game.

Some of the boss fights were a little tough but other than that no complaints at all.
Control is 50% discounted, not 60% as advertised.

EDIT: They fixed it.

Vampyr sounds fascinating but I'm on the fence because according to some reviews you are heavily penalized story-wise if you kill people and that the only way to get a "good ending" is to abstain to do vampire things. I don't usually replay games so I feel I would be missing things one way or another. Was that your experience?
Thanks for the freebie, folks. :)

Maxvorstadt: It ain`t no Bethesda Sale if Skyrim is not a part of it. Get it GOG, get it, please!
They said there's another surprise coming before 4th of Jan. Who knows right?

I guessed a couple of days ago another freebie might be on the way. And what do you know!
.
Thanks GOG and Developer/Publisher for allowing this game to be given out as a freebie. And the deluxe edition no less!

It freaking figures.

Just yesterday that was gifted to me. The person gifting it to me waited until yesterday to buy it, in case it was going to go on sale - and decided yesterday that this close to Christmas, it apparently wasn't.

Then BOOM. Yes - it does goes on sale. The very next day. Less than 24-hours, actually.

So I DID get the good ending by not killing the "real humans" - well I think one but it was... spoilerish. Anyway pretty positive I got the 100% good ending.

The mechanic is, there are actual humans you can talk to in the world. If you "drink" them, you get large chunks of experience points. You can actually get even MORE experience points by unlocking their stories, finding objects and talking to them to learn about them. You also have to cure them of various maladies (you ARE still a doctor after all) - if you do this you get even MORE EXP when you do eventually kill them.

I really didn't feel like I was missing out on too much EXP by not killing them so I avoided this part of the game. I had fun learning their stories and putting together their interactions by solving the small quests with them - I just didn't feel the need to finally drink them.

Now maybe I would have had an easier time in some of the boss fights or accelerated my character growth if I HAD killed them, but I was eventually able to build the vampire I wanted with the skills I thought were cool without having to murder the humans in the game.

So that's what you miss out on if you do a "pacifist" run - you still have a ton of combat and get to do vampire things - you just don't get that huge EXP errrrr ... infusion ... you would have gotten if you killed the people.
For a tenner I can heartily recommend Vampyr. Hell, it was well worth the price of admission when I paid over twice as much. ;)

I'd be OK if they were to release all of them together. :P

I can wholeheartedly recommend Brigador to any mecha fan, esp. if you like the decadent 80s neon-lit style, synthwave tracks and oldschool gameplay. It was one of my favourite games in 2017 that I even 100%'d, but this deluxe edition makes it even sweeter thanks to those extras included. Cheers!
As always, very big thanks to CIEMNOGRODZIANIN for the pricing info :)

Dark Corners is good to see back here, tough but spooky as heck; Very much enjoyed Arx, atmospheric and extremely immersive.

Brigador with all the trimmings - I'm well chuffed <3
