I've see a lot of people arging about windows 10 problems(mostly if you use and mechanical Hard Disk), soo i decided to make this post for a porpuse of tweaking it for best usage.
A long of history, we know that the windows have a lot a viruses, and i really don't trust in antivirus to protect myself(sometimes it's make my computer even worse). in that case, is up to you, i higly recommend that you create a separated administrator account and make you dialy usage account a normal user(without privileges), and i telling you you to think before giving administrator privileges to ANY software that you have downloaded(even games).
What's make windows 10 runs too slowly in an hard disk? and the same way, how he get your data?
We have here something that we don't in old versions of windows(7 and older), something called Telemetry, what is it? is a machine learning that study how you use your system and send some data to microsoft.
Actually windows have 4 of theses(well hidden) and i'm going to tell you how to disable all of theses.
The procedures are a little diferent betweeen HOME and PRO version, i'm going to tell you what you can do in each case.
"This whole tutorial was made in windows 1909 version."
and yes, this will be a lot of text.
WARNING: YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING YOU DO ON YOUR COMPUTER.
First of all we're going to run services.msc as a administrator. (Carefully here, you don't want to disable anything important).
Look for "Sysmain" service(on old versions of windows this one may be called Prefetch). Stop it and disable it.
Look for "Connected User Experiences and Telemetry". Stop it and disable it.
Next we're going to open the task scheduler as administrator. (And again, be carefully.)
On the first screen you're going to expand "Task Scheduler Library" after that expand Windows, look for the folder "Application Experience" click on it and you're going to find three task on the main screen.
Disable the "Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser" and yes, this is not a compability thing, is just another telemetry with diferent name.
Well, we disable 3 of 4 telemtry's, this is was't that hard was it?
The last step will be diferent between Windows HOME and PRO.
IF YOU'RE USING WINDOWS PRO: Open the local group policy editor follow the path Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Data Collection. Look for AllowTelemetry in the list on you right, double click on it, mark disabled and press OK.
IF YOU'RE USING WINDOWS HOME: Open registry editor as a administrator and go to the path \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\DataCollection
Right click on the blank space > Create DWORD (32bit).
Rename it to "AllowTelemetry" without quotes. double click on it, mark Hexadecimal and give the value 0. press ok and close registry editor.
Now that we disable all the stuff is time to clean everything, just go to the directory C:\Windows\Prefetch and delete everything INSIDE OF THE FOLDER, do NOT delete THE FOLDER INSTEAD.
Reboot, and you're going to see that your machine will be more faster and you Hard Disk will not going to 100% all the time.
I hope this help a lot of people.
