blotunga: On a serious note, I'm downloading the ISO, I haven't yet decided if I simply upgrade or do a clean install. The download speed however is abysmal.
cause everybody is hitting microsoft for the upgrade now

..well a lot of people anyway

DirectX is ok no need to go independent from DirectX.

apehater: so far i don't see any reason for this
DirectX is better than OpenGL and Vulkan and I prefer DirectX over both of them.

Johnathanamz: What are you worried about Windows 10? Just buy a Windows 7 copy or Windows 8.1 copy, which sell for like $15 dollars (USD) then claim your Windows 10 copy for free.
Eh, some reasons like the forced updates, "windows as a service" unclear plan, "mobile first" strategy, apps and MS store, still the horrible menu, other hidden surprises..

Also, I can't find Win7 anywhere and I quite hate OEMs.
I'll see about picking up a spare copy of Windows 7 or 8 and waiting until I build my own PC (hopefully later this year) to do the switch, if it's worth doing that is.

Yeah not a fan of all this new approach to data gathering (and let's not forget the original spy in your living room that was going to be Xbox One!) that MS are so keen on. This article at RPS talks about the password sharing thing as well:

'Windows 10 Is Quietly Sharing Your WiFi Password':

Let other lab rats try it first.
Btw Windows 10 quietly share your WiFi password by default (and MS says not to worry!).
I do not think my gaming rig will be updating to this anytime soon. By my internet laptop is soon to be sacrificed. So I guess I will find out if this is any good this weekend.

I'll be jumping in... If you have windows 8 there's no reason not to. I have win 7, and I have a backup copy.

Apparently it's said to be safe. I have no idea though because I never purchased Windows copies from there.
