During Spriung Sale I bought Metro Exodus - Gold Edition.
Why do I recommend it?
Because it's a good game with captivating story and non-repetitive combat. And this wide-open spaces, which are new to this game universum - absolutely love it! Metro Exodus is also very nice when it comes to graphics. I can surely recommend it!
Warcraft I&II bundle. Do I really need to describe, why I definitely recommend it to literally anyone ?)

Well, despite being very old games, they are still ones of the best RTS games, even with clunky controls of first game, and very small differences between two races (yes, there is only two of them). The second one introduces ships and naval battles, as well island hopping, which is a bit tedious. And AI in not smartest out there. But hey, its not that cheating fiend from Starcraft.
So those two games a very old, and its hard to compare them to more recent RTS games. But they still just so much fun to play - nice art style and sprites, good music, and story. Ohh, the story. I am not that familiar with RTS history, but to me, Warcraft series is one of first series, which provided such rich lore in RTS game. And still, it`s one of my favorite settings - somewhat classic high fantasy, but with it`s own takes on "evil" races and some steampunk elements.
Bought X-Com 2 and it's expansion, King of Fighters XIV, and Metro Exodus Gold along with some older titles like Ankh 2 + 3 (already had the 1st), Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures, SWAT 4 Gold, and Door Kickers: Action Squad.

I haven't played any yet, but if Door Kickers: Action Squad is just like Broforce, it's sure to be a blast! I recommend XCOM 2 and Metro Exodus because both seem to be fantastic, which is why I wanted them. Likely will be doing co-op KoF XiV with my hubby later today, and it should be a fun time as well! I think these 4 buys are the most exciting to me, really looking forward to them (though also Wallce & Gromit, being a huge fan of the franchise).
I got The Witcher Adventure Game and Metro: Exodus - Gold Edition. Why? because those are awesome games from awesome franchises, it's the final games to complete my Metro and The Witcher collections.
So, I got:

Deus Ex (the old, legendary one) - it's probably the most fun you can have with a piece of pc gaming history.

Children of Morta - addictive, rouglite gameplay is great but it also has the most beautiful pixel grafics, which use all the colors visible to human eye and then some.

Wasteland 2 - it's the isometric sequel to Fallout 1&2 that we never got. And You deserve it.
I got Mad Max. I think It's a good game, now DRM free on GOG.
I got The Witcher III Game of the Year Edition. Why because it's The Witcher III need I say more?
Picked up Mad Max because I'd had my eye on it off and on for years but wasn't willing to buy it because it had Denuvo, but moving to an anti-DRM platform like GOG at a good price was enough to get me to make the leap. Haven't fired it up yet, though, because....

I also bought Starcom: Nexus - partially because of a good price, partially because it looked like something I might like, and partially because the reviewers here compared it to Space Pirates and Zombies, which was enough to push me over the edge. Unlike Mad Max, I have put time into this one and I'm liking it - reminds me of Starflight/Star Control 2 with a little Space Pirates and Zombies mixed in too. I meant to fire up some other games and haven't because this one is eating time. I'd highly recommend it because it's got a good throwback feel, there's plenty to explore and lots to do - and it's well fleshed-out with a bunch of little flavor text on many worlds.

I also just grabbed the Interstellar Space: Genesis Natural Law DLC. Interstellar Space: Genesis is another one the community here got me to pull the trigger on during the last sale, the comparisons to MOO2 convinced me to give it a go - and I liked it enough I decided I'd grab the DLC too. It is, essentially, a MOO2-alike, but it's a pretty well done one. There's more slick modern games in the genre, but this one is a throwback in almost all good ways and still brought some good ideas to the table I hadn't run into before.

So basically, the moral of the story so far (although I may yet buy more) is: Thanks GOG for fending off DRM and thanks GOG community for pointing me in the right directions.

I bought a bunch of games - Elex, Mad Max, Dishonored: Definitive Edition, Master of Orion 1+2, SimCity 4 Deluxe, Ring Runner: Flight of The Sages and Caladrius Blaze.

SimCity 4 is the only one I can recommend from experience, and I definitely would recommend it. If you don't think spending hours tweaking landscapes and laying out city grids and road networks can be really satisfying and fun, well, prepare to be amazed!! And besides that - IT'S ON SALE!

Elex and Mad Max I would recommend for fans of open-world games. Elex if you want a hardcore challenge and Mad Max if you like the Arkham-style combat. And they're both on sale!

If you want to know what games some people seem to really, really like, I would recommend Master of Orion 1+2 and Dishonored: Definitive Edition. Why not get 'em while they're on sale!!

Does your gaming budget top out at about 1$ US? Then I can recommend Ring Runner: Flight of the Sages! Why? 'Cause you can afford it! (While it's on sale, that is.)

Oh, and, uh... if you're a fan of a certain kind of artwork, I would recommend Caladrius Blaze. Because it looks like it has that kind of artwork. I bought it. I'm sorry. I feel shame.

BUT IT WAS ON SALE!
So here's my spiel, I got Alwa's Legacy, IOI Collection, and Starflight 1+2.

I have the first Alwa's game and loved it and saw Legacy streamed and am really looking forward to giving it a try. The game has a great sense of exploration with fun and creative puzzles so if like me you enjoy metroidvania's the series comes highly recommended.

I never really got into IO Interactive games much in the past and found the collection a great price for some really iconic games plus I've been wanting to play some stealth games recently so figure the hitman games will help scratch that itch. I've seen freedom fighters streamed and it always looked fun (and challenging) with a good mix of action and tactics.

Starflight 1+2 are some classics I've had them wishlisted and tried them in the past so figured the current discount made them a nice addition.

Good luck everyone with the contest and I hope you all enjoy the games you got!!!
Mad Max

Mad Max is the game I bought during this sale and ofc I didn't get a chance to play it, so it's rather difficult to add any recommendations lol. But I will give it a try anyway based on other factors.

Most of us love movies and they existed long before pc video games came out. I was a big fan of sci-fi, fantasy and adventure movies, so the 80s and 90s were some of the most memorable years for me growing up.

I was also a fan of DnD pen and paper games back then. There was also a game called Gamma World that really piqued my interest, though DnD kind of overshadowed it and ended up taking over most of my play time.

Ahem, but more on that part later, let's get back to the movie part.

So, watching the movie Mad Max with Mel Gibson for the first time was really entertaining. A post-apocalyptic world where the strongest (and maybe luckiest) were the true rulers of the world or at least their small piece of it. I loved the action, the struggles of the characters, the desolate landscape where it was the modern version of the wild west, riding vehicles rather than horses and a gritty, tough as nails main character.

While Mad Max was fun to watch, it wasn't until Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior and then later Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome came out that they became etched into my heart and forever became classics for me. I have no doubt they are among the top reasons why I fell for games like Fallout 1 and 2 and eventually reinforced the love of that genre itself.

And though movies influenced my leap into games, I can't forget that DnD and other pen and paper games had some of the most profound impact on my then teen life. So, it's no surprise that Gamma World would leave such a lasting impression on me (along with Mad Max movies), that they may be some of the main reasons for me falling in love with the post-apocalyptic theme when it comes to pc games.

They are also probably the main reason that I still read books in that genre, including my interest in litrpg books. But comments on books are for another thread. :)

Oh, how I wish Gamma World hadn't been so overshadowed by DnD games. Still I'm thankful for it since it was the main reason I sought out the Fallout series, ATOM, Wasteland 2 and now Mad Max.

So why would I recommend a game I haven't even had a chance to play yet? Maybe it was the reviews and perhaps the memories of older times. But after watching a few gameplay videos I think I made the right choice this sale.

- The car driving and combat looks awesome. It also appears the car can be upgraded quite a bit.
- The hand to hand and melee combat look brutal and feels like it will be quite satisfying when you take your enemies out.
- The world feels very open, though it also feels quite desolate, but then that's the perfect theme for a post-apocalyptic world, right?
- The reviews are very positive both here, on Steam and on YouTube. And given everything I've seen so far, I'd have to agree.

So, here's to Mad Max, cheers!

Once I've played the game itself, I'll post a proper review and a recommendation, for or against.

Hope everyone enjoyed the Spring sale and got what they wanted or at least happy with what they got.

I bought couple of games during the sale. So far i have started to play with helium rain a really relaxing space exploration game.
For me its Warhammer - Chaosbane, this is a very good Diabloish/Grim Dawn type ARPG sent in the Old World pre Age Of Sigmar.
The architecture looks amazing of the Empire Structures (Eko Software did their homework by the looks of it).
The combat and magic/special abilities are good (no gripes so far from me).
The graphics are good (no issues so far), and the characters to me have been designed very well for the time period the game is set in.
From the games I bought during the Spring Sale I want to recommend three. The are inexpensive during sales
so there are no excuses for not trying those games and have a good time.

First game is: Metal Slug. Why? Just because you can pair with someone at home and using the same computer
fight your way through the enemys in this old school side scrolling game, and share good moments.

Second recommendation: Sim City 2000, because during this times we live, it can be fun to see if we can make
better cities than the ones that our architects and engineers are making for us.

The third game it wiil be Jagged Alliance. Excellent turn based tactical strategy. Exercise your brain without
the stress of real time games. Warning: Family members, that like strategy games and start watching you play,
will try to give recommendations about tactics. Sometimes, when things go wrong on your game they will even
say annoying things like "I told you...!". Please be Zen. Eheh.
The Witcher Saga

In late 2020, GOG was giving away The
Witcher Enahanced edition. I didn't start playing it right away because in November I was playing the Assassin's Creed saga, recently bought the Animus Pack that contains all the AC games except for the last one, in a great bargain from Ubisoft. After finished playin AC1, I gave a try in The Witcher. Only three words: Awesome Time Investement.

So I kept watching gameplays of The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. Every title was better than the previous one. I am buying a new computer on next months, so, one of the first games I want to install is The Witched 3, which is the game I bought on this spring sale. I do not own yet The Witcher 2 because I am very amused by the third installment. Maybe I will play it before the second one. I know that this is an "old" game. But I had a computer by that time that ran games released in 2006-2007 at 5 fps. So I had to wait. And now is time to enjoy all the efforts. Thank you GOG! I will buy The Witcher 2 in June or July. And maybe next year I'll buy Ciberpunk. Topics and plot are very different between The Witcher and Ciberpunk, but gameplays are very similar, btween these two games and the AC saga. I love these kind of open world enviroments and side missions. You can admire the art of the simulated "nature" and the simulalated cities. Again.
Thank you GOG!!
