What game do I recommend? Well... Any of these above and other. There are only two things that matters:
1.) you should have fun playing these games
2.) and you play the games, you buy. :)

About 20 percent of the games listed above, I played in the past years/decades (I mean a finished them, at least the story mode9, so I'm good. And I will play games until I'm death. :D

If I have to make a TOP 10 list of my recommendation from these above, well, here it is:
- Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest
- Monster Train
- Spec Ops: The Line
- Deus Ex: Human Revolution
- Pikuniku
- Prince of Persia®: The Sands of Time
- FlatOut 2
- Iron Storm (many will say, that this is a poor game, but I'll tell you, this is one of the game and MoH: AA the other, that I player 3 times trough :D)
- World in Conflict
- Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King (especially Aladdin)

Not on the list, but: Mad Max and Batman games are really worth at least a playtrough.
I just got the DLCs for Victor Vran, because more it is better...
A couple of hours ago I got Beneath a steel sky. I was eyeballing Beyond a steel sky, and when I found out there was a previous game, decided to go for it. It has all the feel of a pre-2000 game - doesn't hold your hand, throws you into the game world and lets you figure it out. Highly recommended for people who like puzzles, good storytelling and cool dialogue, and a solid world and characters. The graphics are ancient by today's standards but perfectly immerses the player. P.s. alt+enter is your friend if the pixels are hurting your eyes in fullscreen.
I ended up buying Factorio this sale because I played the demo and thought it is just that good, even without a discount...
I picked up Horizon Zero Dawn during the sale. It's the lowest price I've seen it yet, it's DRM free on gog, and by most accounts the PC port bugs have been patched out. Can't wait to crank up the visuals well beyond PS4s 1080p 30fps on my ultrawide 1440p monitor. Excited to finally play this innovative game on the platform of my preference.

I got Stronghold Crusaders HD and its a heck of a lot of fun, I had a blast with the original and I recommend it to anyone wanting a different strategy game.
Prey
I already had it on Steam, but it is so great that I bought it on GOG as well (and I am playing on the GOG version right now)
A masterpiece in science fiction and FPS/RPG hybrids, as it was Dishonored as well (and such as Bioshock, or Deus Ex)
Northgard and all DLCs. Great sale price.
I recently picked up Dead Space and Bioshock: Remastered, as well as SUPERHOT.

For Dead Space, I recommend it to those looking for a thrill, and a scare while having to think about what they have on them about their situation. Resources are limited, and there are far, far too many of them, and only one of you.

And for Bioshock, I consider it to a pretty substantial game, taking the form of both a work of art, a play on Mythology, and a great horror/action mix with quite a story for it to tell. You slowly become overpowered, and able to take on more and more of the competition. And with more than one ending, there is certainly much to do, and much of it you can do creative.

And finally for the last game on this list (but certainly not least), SUPERHOT. I would call this the most innovative shooter I've played! Time stops as you don't move, and pick up when you begin to move. Enemies start using differing weapons, such as bats, shotguns, pistols and more. So far it's an assortment of levels, all of which are pretty fun!
I got The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition because it seems like it's price seems like the lowest it's been for a while and because I'd been wanting to play an ARPG that's compatible with Linux. So I guess I'd recommend it for for those reasons (you want to get a cheap ARPG with native Linux port).

Personally, I bought nothing during this sale
HOWEVER, as I'm a true Choosing Beggar, I'll try my best :)
Good luck to everyone, and buy Fallout 3, not 76
I bought Ion Fury and Project Warlock during this sale from CV11's recommendation. He said how they were such great retro-FPS/boomer shooters and that the developers of Ion Fury really knew how to put together a game. Project Warlock had more new elements such as being roguelike, but still a good quick pick up game when you've got time.

I also got Hunie Pop 2 but that's unrelated, more to continue a joke with my friends.

Life changing and world saving.. But seriously, who doesn't love a bit of Serious Sam?
While I bought it technically during the sale, it wasn't on sale or related to the sale at all... I bought Aground last week. I had gotten and installed the demo a while ago, but tried it Tuesday evening before day off, and decided to buy it as my "play for my day off" game. The demo hooked me, and its save moves over into the full version fine. And then on Wednesday off work, I played from the moment I was up through until bed time (which was delayed by the game).

And then I had the weekend. And evenings in between. When I checked my save time on Tuesday, just a week after purchase. In less than a week, I had 50-some hours played according to the in-game save game counter. The game is awesome, and keeps surprising you. I reached a point that I thought was surely going to be "ok, this is where it ends", but, no, it opens up an entirely new aspect of play.

I forced myself to break from it after that... consumption... and played something else (Endzone) this week. I'll probably get back to Aground tomorrow.

I can't recommend Aground to anyone. IT IS CONSUMPTIVE. There's always something new to do or unlock or work toward (usually MANY somethings). Like Civilization's "just one more turn", it has "I'll quit just after I make this." or "I just need to get some more of that material." and then "Well, I don't want to forget what I was hoping to do with it." and then "I guess I'll just try and see what it does"...

mrkgnao: - Selling games with single player elements locked behind some form of DRM without properly identifying them (e.g. Cyberpunk 2077, Absolver). If you believe you should sell such games, I recommend you add a search filter that allows users to identify which games have DRM elements and which do not (e.g. Humble Bundle has such a filter).

Goglodytes: if you care about the future of GOG, I recommend you consider joining the boycott.
I'm not quite there, but my spending is quite less than usual and I'm nagging GOG about the bullshit regularly.

Didn't buy anything from this sale, but I would recommend Witcher 3, Divinity original sin 2 and Disco Elysium because they are all great RPG's.
