It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

As the title says and it may help some people so,if you know some that work.
- Install Linux
- if you're playing Minecraft windows 10 edition, you can log into multiple PCs and play with your friends with the one license
- search for IPX plug in and use to connect with IPX for old games
- be sure legacy drivers are on
- buy your games at GOG
- put Kerbal space program on
- have at least 8gb of ram
- have a graphics card that matches your needs
- if you want to upgrade your processor, it's almost always cheaper to upgrade your mobo and hi to a whole new generation
- link it to your Xbox
- if you use headphones, get the $15 Dolby Atmos for headphones app
For most (not all) win10 games you need a monitor.

Or install a older windows version (preferably 8.1+classic shell)

- Setup your internet connection as metered so it won´t transfer updates and other garbage whenever wants
- If you have a mechanical drive, get a SSD so you wont notice those antivirus and "optimization" tasks
- Windows 10 is free and will soon be free officially. If Ms is give away win10 for free, maybe the old addage prevails?
-Spend some time configuring settings options
- Old control panel is still there and is working (mostly)
- Since it has been mentioned only 1 time in 2 posts: install Linux (not on win10 though)
- Go to windows features and turn on what you may need, like directplay

More later

Sorry but I can´t take that article seriously where it recommends "high performance" power options.

Editing power options was/is required for Ryzen Cpu's, though with the May update it might not be.

I believe Windows 7 is still faster, eitherway M$ decided not to support the newer CPU's on the old OS's to force people to upgrade for CPU updates, if DirectX wasn't enough. They will still work, but they won't perform as they could with Windows 10

Use a firewall and manually set it up to block everything from connecting in or out, only svhost needs to connect out for the internet to work on a wired connection, and thats only UDP requests to and from a few specific ports.

And NTLite your Windows 10 ISO, so you can remove M$ store before they have a chance of getting any money from your use of windows 10. :)

You'll never get Windows updates, and the only thing that connects out is the software you allow, but it's not for those who don't know diddly, as you'll probably cut off your access and wonder what happend.

You can do it with Windows Firewall, but rules can end up being added that you don't want on, even when you remove everything you'll find rules reappearing.

Certainly some work to do,later.
Is Windows 10 still re-adding removed applications that come with it and resetting your settings every spring and autumn? Then you will have to retweak it twice a year.

So they fixed that. That was one of the most annoying things when Windows 10 was new.

I said my computer doesn't do it. :P
My computer is kind of weird. I mean, after all, it is MY computer. :P

Yes it is. They designed it that way. It reinstalls itself basically every major update, instead of doing actual updates. (What used to be "service packs".)

Win10 is shit. Even win8.1 was better. 7 was even better. It's arguable between XP and 7...

Are you saying that tweaking off all the stuff you never use or in other words making it a gamer's pc,is a waste of time because it resets itself? If that's true then MS should be shot as we/users have no rights anymore. What about those programs mentioned in post 3,are they useless? I remember using tweaks on XP and W7 that didn't revert.
For games with tearing or unstable framerate / framepacing, such as Witcher 3 i suggest using RTSS (RivaTuner) and the feature Scanline Sync; enter the number "1" to enable it and limit to usually 60 fps.

Click on "Scanline sync" to change limit x2 for 120 fps, or limit x/2 for 30 fps.

This should get rid of any framedrop or framepacing issues in compatible games.

Also for NVIDIA GPUs, the "profile inspector" tool is great to manage settings in a single UI. Personally i keep triple buffering on, force v-sync on and limit fps to 60 in the global panel.
For old games, disabling mouse pointer precision is often required.

(Windows Settings -> Additional mouse options -> Pointer Options)

Project Eden is unplayable with it enabled.
