I was really excited when Star Trek games first came to GOG but disappointed to not see Klingon Academy with them. I was hopeful that more would show up on GOG since titles like Elite Force 1 & 2 and Bridge Commander, Armada 1 & 2 weren't there the first time. Now they are here with Armada 1&2 pending, but with no sign of Klingon Academy. Why? Is the game too niche? I didn't think I'd see Away Team included but I guess that had broader appeal than I thought. I realize the game has some potentially game breaking bugs. I vaguely remember being affected by them but I also know that I beat the game in the end. I'm not sure if that's something that GOG couldn't patch or not. Why is this game not here? Its a game that deserves far more exposure than it received during launch. It is in my mind the best Star Trek game ever made, and its a shame that many people may never get to experience it if it doesn't get a second life here. I realize there are already posts about this game, but I believe it bears repeating. Anyway, here's hoping that somehow this game is still coming to GOG.
Don't forget Klingon Honor Guard.
Maybe for the 60th anniversary in 2026?
Wouldn't mind a GoG re-release of Star Trek: Klingon, Star Trek: Borg and Star Trek: TNG - A Final Unity myself.

Simple answer: rights and licencing. if it aint here, they dont have the rights or licence.

I did actually think of that but I can't fathom who the hell is stubbornly holding onto it and why, and why they could get Starfleet Academy no problem but not Klingon Academy. I thought Interplay went out of business, so who has the rights now? So confusing and stupid.

Dont ask me, ask the legal team(s) / lawyers involved.

It's not the question of appeal. All the recently released Trek games were from Activision. Klingon Academy isn't part of that batch. The Activion games appearing here has no bearing on the other ones, like Klingon Academy, Final Unity, Borg etc.
Klingon Honor Guard was published by Microprose which has passed through multiple hands over the years. By the look of it the publisher has been revived and has a website

https://www.microprose.com/

and an E-mail address:

innovation@microprose.co.uk

One could contact them to see if they still hold publishing rights to the Star Trek games the original Microprose handled or if they were acquired by another party when they were purchased by other groups.

The Trek games weren't all published by the same company like Star Wars games were, so it'll always be a challenge getting them all here. I don't think any of the Micropose Trek games are here, as wolfsite mentions.

If GOG got Blade Runner though, anything is possible I suppose.

But isn't Klingon academy an Interplay game, just like 25th anniversary, Judgement rites and Starfleet academy which all came to Gog many years ago? So maybe it's indeed primarily due to technical issues, I recall reading that it's very difficult to get working on anything beyond Windows 98 (though there are apparently fan patches for that).
I thought I had both Klingon Honor Guard and Klingon Academy on disc, but alas according to my records I only have Klingon Honor Guard plus a demo or two of Klingon Academy. In fact I have heaps of Star Trek demos on disc ... those were the days.

So here's hoping both games will turn up here before too long.

This game and the Armada games were among my top wished for games. Now there is hope for the Armada games. I never thought that would happen. I have a boxed copy of all of them, but I have only had moderate success with the Armada titles. Klingon Academy was even harder. I think it is an amazing game though.

I hope all of these other Trek games get released too. I haven't played any of them, but I would like the opportunity.

Klingon Academy is part of the Interplay batch of games. If GoG has SFC, SFC2, 25th, JR and SFA, there's no reason Ka shouldn't be here either.
I would really love to see KA released on GoG
it wouldn't run well on Windows 11 anyway because the codex files are out dated now + licencing as has already been said
