Luned: Hmmm, methinks someone might be looking to get around a region-delayed release date for an upcoming game.
And/or regional pricing.

Wait that's a thing?
Why would they do something like that?
Seems pretty stupid to me...

GOG doesn't have that problem, they just give you a coupon worth the value what you paid extra :)

bram1253: The banning question:
I have posted on games' forum where your account could get deleted and you would lose access to your account and games.
Just try to be nice and friendly. then everything should be fine. GOG very rarely bans anyone from the forum. And if you want to have fun, you should stay away from political threads and any kind of Gamergate discussion. These tend to be rather toxic.

Welcome to GOG!

bram1253: For example, if you where a massive troll on the forums, would you get restricted of your games?
And on what occasions will it happen and has already happened?
You get restricted from downloading your games only when GOG's marketing department thinks it's great to troll their customers and fake that their site goes offline forever (yes, that has actually happened).

They've also censored possibly inflammatory thread titles and have, on one occasion I know of, asked a well liked member to tone it down. That's basically all of it. Bans for legit accounts are basically unheard of. I would also assume that GOG's stone age forum with its extinct web designers offers no means whatsoever to determine multiple accounts used for serial downvoting. So not even that would get you offed.

Also, swell, GOG doesn't moderate their forums. People who can't be called 'trolls' but must be called 'serial abusers' instead run rampant. Nothing ever happens to them. They're in gross direct violation of forum guidelines (yes, those actually exist!) daily. They don't get warned, they don't get pointed towards guidelines, nothing, until they think everything they do is absolutely OK.

In short, you have nothing to fear and no reason to behave with the exception of your own decency. Not exactly the fuel of the internet, sadly.

However, in any case I would assume that account access and forum access are very different things. Just like e.g. at Telltale, I think it's possible to ban a user from the forum while he could still access his games with no restriction. Of course, if you need community support you'd be fucked. :)

Thanks for welcoming me :)
But what do you mean with "Gamergate discussion"?
And I like to sometimes participate in political threads, if someone is toxic then that says a lot about them.
I will not insult anyone for their opinions / believes / ... because that's just a stupid thing to do :-)

Quite some time ago, the site came out of beta and was shut down for a short period of time. As a joke, the GOG staff said the site was shutting down and led people tp believe it was permanent. They have an... odd sense of humour sometimes.

*edit* Ninjaed. And with a link, no less. *sigh*

Rather don't, lest you never return from that pit of despair and torment.

Yeah, that thread is not Groot. I avoid it.
You can set your Country to "Other," just like how I do in my account. This way, nobody will bring up anything about your country and it being a hellhole, etc.

Why, is your country a hellhole? :p
