My bad, I meant above average when compared to the average or below tv episodes....I obviously like the show a bit more due to it having the one who plays the titular role(cannot spell his name atm) and all the visual stuff/intro/etc.

^ Banned because you failed to explain that, for the most part, the Monk series of books would have made splendid television episodes with "Mr. Monk" played by Anthony Marcus Shalhoub.
