JDelekto: So watch "The Man in the High Castle", see what you think.

tinyE: He was in American Hot Wax? I remember Jay Leno in that but not Harrison.

Of course his 30 second bit in 'Apocalypse Now' was fantastic! :D

FYI: Tim McIntire who played Alan Freed in AHW was also the voice of Blood in 'A Boy and His Dog'.

JDelekto: I was pretty sure it was him driving in the pickup truck.
That's 'American Graffiti' you numb skull! XD

I did think "Frantic" was great, but then "Taken" one-upped it.

I love Taken too, Liam neeson is great. sequels kinda sucks but original is great.
I feel like not caring as much about Star Wars as some people clearly do probably gives me an advantage. Honestly though, I've given up complaining about how Hollywood "ruins" my favorite franchises. Because that's all they are really, "franchises". They exist to make money. Whether I enjoy them or not matters only to myself, and if I end up seeing the new movie (probably inevitable) and not liking it... Well, that's two or three hours of my life wasted. No big deal.
It's going to suck because well... it is Star Wars.

*hides*

I actually enjoyed the third one a lot, because it went all out with how stupid it was, it was almost a parody of the "Liam Neeson action move", which practically is it's own genre by now. On a related note- I though Non-Stop was great, probably the best of those since the original Taken.

There already is the third one? hmm I'm not so sure anymore if I've actually seen that last one. There was this interesting pinecone.. ^^

mcleodone: mustard pots and strawberry milkshakes with Star Wars Characters you will finally see a 3pack of toothbrushes
- with a free cinema ticket included...
Seriously?! Not only do you create a thread where participants are expected, if not downright encouraged, to bash a movie none of them have seen yet but on top of that you present those as your main arguments?!

drealmer7: Because: The writer(s) + director. I'm not even going to bother with it. Ruined. Heartbroken.
I'm not fond of Abrams either and the only Michael Arndt sceenplay I'm familiar with is that of Little Miss Sunshine but at least Lawrence Kasdan was involved in the writing of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. That gives me hope - even if his career has been at an all-time low for many years.

I don't pay to go to the movies, well, in a way I do by having a subscription to Netflix. I can watch whatever I want (well, within their catalog) whenever I want (when I'm actually at home).

I can binge-watch entire seasons without throwing extra money out there.

I am the least interesting man in the Universe.

Actually, I felt stupid about posting that as soon as I clicked the button, because of course people are going to complain about the movie. It's just basic human nature, we love to complain!

I guess not complaining makes me "uninteresting" too. :-)

I've thought about going the Netflix (or similar) route myself, but the lack of content (of interest to me) has held me back.

Shut up, no we don't! That's all you say! That's all anyone says! This forum is just a bunch of whiners! I swear would it kill you stupid people to be a little fucking positive!? Just because life sucks and you are an idiot and it smells bad in here and that avatar is fucking stupid.....

I'm sorry.

What were we talking about?
What is the point of this thread?

Listening to the weekly podcasts by Collider Videos & following bits and pieces of the news about the movie - it sounds good (im a fan of 4,5,6. Not 1,2,3)

Havent heard anything negative about the movie (well except for the fact no one seems to know where Luke is in the movie - he is absent from the marketing & trailers).

In one regard, the movie can't help but be good: all the nerdrage it generates ought to be fairly entertaining.
