Received an email about unused credits in my GOG Wallet.

"Unused credits earned through our Fair Price Package are time-limited,
so don't wait, some of them may expire soon!"

Except that my GOG Wallet page clearly says that they will expire in a year or so...

"some of them may expire soon"

That is very oddly written, "some" and "soon", not clear at all. Is that just marketing talk to make me do panic shopping, or did some script get the dates wrong and premature sent the warning (never had these kinds of warnings before). A month or two before expiry date I could understand, but warning about expiry date that is next summer makes me wonder.

Or is it indeed a valid warning that some parts of my Wallet will be gone in the near future?

Proper dates and accurate information, instead of vague threats would be appreciated. These kinds of threats make me less inclined to buy the region priced games where I have gotten these unused credits to my GOG Wallet.

The warning email arrived 6-7 hours ago.

Would GOG be that silly to give these warnings just on the last minute/hour....

Whatever the question is, that answer is almost always "yes"
Hey guys I just got an email from GOG and I wanted to make sure I snagged XIII before it gets pulled.
Do GOG Wallet have an expiration date?
GOG Wallet funds purchased by you using real money: no expiry date.
GOG Wallet funds provided by us as ‘Free Wallet’ (e.g. in relation to our Fair Price Package): one year expiry date. This can be renewed by a further one year period by new ‘Free Wallet’ being added your account.
GOG Wallet funds provided by us as ‘Free Wallet’ combined with GOG Wallet funds purchased by you using real money: no expiry date until that total balance is reduced to zero (at which point the process resets again)
I hope this helps. You got a standard message about wallet funds.

Too late. Your wallet funds have already expired.

That might be it.
And imagine what your reaction would be, if you log in next month and half of your wallet is gone - without warning.
Just FYI, the Gift Certificates to my place never expire! :D

Now true, that is Michigan state law, BUT WE'D STICK BY THAT POLICY EVEN IF IT WASN'T! :P
Nah. Everyone with wallet funds left in their account got the e-mail. My remaining credit says "Valid indefinitely" and I still got that e-mail. I threw some money into the wallet during the summer sale because it's easier than having a dozen separate Paypal transactions. I'm sure the e-mail was sent to any user with money left in their wallets.

I for one,can say that is false.
I'm using GOG Wallet since the very first day and can't remember loosing any store credits.
It's probably just a reminder that is sent automatically every so often to people with credit that can expire to give you plenty of warning. Most likely in the hopes that it will prevent forgetful people complaining to customer support about expired funds.
i thought wallet funds were permanent. wasn't that the point of introducing wallet? so you have a place to "keep" your cash?

Money you put there has no expiry date.

Money GOG put there from the Fair Price Package does.
