And even if she could, she probably can't talk because....well you figure it out.

Talk for yourself Damn it. I'm a doctor not a comedian!
Games now are also packing Galaxy.dll in their folder too due to the Galaxy client. Personally I'm fine with this stuff as long as it's not forcing me into clients and online requirements.

Nice and simple right? Just watch this topic, it will spread like wild fire.

Yep, you cant move for unnecessary linked libraries in packages now. Its getting to the stage where everything should be run in an image for security, I.e. Totally box things off.

darthspudius: Why are we talking about this file like it is a disease? If it doesn't do anything why care?
Actually it does - several games with supposedly "inert" steam_api.dll files search for steam, and if they find it, they wont run without it (xenonauts being one). Had this issue with a few games. Brought it up a few times.

Had this issue with the drm free edition of Tower of Guns from humble - it was logging hours played on steam as "Unreal Developers Kit" (as did some others). Contacted Joe Mirabello - he sorted it out. Other devs gave more of a "Meh!" response.

Really, if the game is meant to DRM free, but will search for steam and wont work without it if found... its not drm free.
If I buy a game on steam like that... fine. I bought it on steam.

I wouldnt expect a load of "Daddies Brown Sauce" in my bottle of HP now, would I?!

I was going to be serious for a minute but when you started lecturing about DRM free, I think I'd rather avoid opening that pit fall.

Wasnt lecturing man - just making a valid point (see the HP sauce comparison). Point is, if its gonna need steam - may as well buy it there.

Yer getting a wee bit jumpy on this stuff now (and I know why with the throat-jumpers out there), but by now you should know im not one of them - I just expect things to do "what it says on the label". Yarp?!

I know I'm getting jumpy lol, thats what happens when people endlessly jump down your throat for harmless things. I apologise but I can't help it!
