Vainamoinen: Get out of there before it's too late. The people in that forum are not just raving crazy, they also have the empathy of serial killers. The "deep state" is the fucked up conspiracy theory that the Obama administration has never stopped running the USA and is secretly driving the country into chaos and demise, which of course prompts a violent response from upstanding citizens. In other words, whatever shit Trump runs into the ground, these people think that in reality it was the secret government of Obama, Clinton & Cie.

I am not shitting you. They really think that.

The theory has recently fueled a narrative called "The Storm", a full fledged science fiction alternate history of the present that makes Trump the secret saviour of hundreds of abused children and supreme victor over any and all of his enemies. And even some right-wing celebrities, like Roseanne Barr, actually do believe that. It's horrific.

If a person buys or otherwise acquires a weapon of mass killing for private use, a weapon solely designed to kill as many humans in as little time as humanly possible, I think that person has a horrific psychological problem. If a US citizen knows his constitution and its amendments so poorly that he believes the founding fathers guaranteed him the unregistered possession of an assault rifle, openly insinuates he would shoot at authorities should they come to collect the damn thing, and still believes he's the "good guy with a gun" that the NRA foretold, I think that person has an alarming mental illness.

If people attack the youth in the USA for demanding reasonable, common-sense gun laws, just baby steps towards a way better future; if people keep insinuating the activists want to repeal the second amendment (which they don't, as it's completely unneccessary to do that for common sense gun laws to come into effect); if people make up crazy shit about the Parkland kids being actors or not having been at their school when the shooter came along; if people use every dishonest measure to smear these courageous young American heroes who have been through hell; and if people ruthlessly paint even more targets on the backs of victims of gun violence: Those are the gun nuts, and I have no other name for them.

You, on the other hand, just have one slow firing weapon used for hunting, and skimming quickly over Canadian gun laws, it's clearly a registered firearm owned by a licensed owner. You've waited 28 days for the security check to clear (in the US, it's 3 days and auto-clearance after those three). You're actually under significantly more restrictions and within the boundaries of significantly stricter gun laws than the Parkland survivors would love to see in their country. And I guess you're not even complaining.

In short, you're not a gun nut, not at all, in my book.
I do own a couple of military style rifles (semi-auto) which while not strictly prohibited under Canadian law but are frowned upon.

I also do want to say, just for disclosure, I will use my firearms to defend myself and my family from those that mean them harm.

Not going to talk you out of that, but, yeah, I'm not too happy about military 'style' firearms in the hands of civilians, I really am not, and public disdain there is rooted in experience. The statistics are speaking a very clear language as to what these 'home defense' weapons are eventually actually used for, and it's not the purpose intended by the owner. You either have them just lying around so the kids will eventually play with them (the statistics about toddlers that accidentally shoot their caretakers in the US alone are beyond wacko), or you have them locked up in a safe, which is definitely the responsible thing to do, yet in the case of a break-in makes them completely useless.

Actually I admire the US that the government acts like an attorney of people in power. If people have issues with the government, they just erect a new government(change the attorney), but people in power do not change.

You also mentioned beautiful sites and ugly sites in China. Sorry, I don't get the point. I've seen harmonious countryside in Pennsylvania; I've also seen mice/rats enjoying meals in New York subway. I've seen beautiful Cherry Bloosom in Washington DC, but I've never spectated horror of dark in Baltimore(I don't want to lose my life).

No one can deny that China has many more issues, but I don't think always viewing a country you are not familliar with with prejudice is good for learning the world.

I agree with you in some points. HOWEVER,
1. It is OK if one doesn't believe the government, but one should believe what he sees. Personally, I see my friends, neighbors and relatives as well as my family become richer. People starting buying cars. Better living environments are accessible and approachable. The population of China is still in moderate growth, but the natural birth rate is going lower. If poor people should be killed to keep GDP growing, I guess the population increase could not be explained.
2. the great wall. Personally I don't like the wall. But don't just look at its cons. It blocks inners from looking outside, but also prevents outsiders from manipulating inners. People in China are still not educated enough in general. If someone outside the country should start a rumor deliberately, people would be misled by him. If you don't believe that people can be lured to do certain things, just look at any country's presidential campaign(except China, I know you would say China is dictatorship, no campaigns.) Why does only China have this problem? Probably it is because China has too many people. And if you seriously think only China has this problem, please check Facebook. I don't think Mark Zuckerberg should be to blame for, but there are always people with bad intention.

This is a very biased far left wing look at what "deep state" means. "Deep state" doesn't actually having anything do with one party, and the term isn't directly about the Obama admin. A democrat admin can have a "deep state" working against them the same as a republican admin.

"Deep state" is simply a shadow government that is working against the elected party possibly using gathered intelligence to prevent or limit the policies of said elected party, that was duly elected by the people, from taking effect. It could also reference working to replace the duly elected party or president. Seeing as the majority of government employees tend to be liberal (based on donation records, etc.), conservatives tend to feel the "deep state" is working against their goals the most.

You would be naïve or extremely biased to think that a government with so many departments and people doesn't have parts that are working against them, especially after a transition to a new elected party. They could be working towards their own goals, or that of the party that was replaced, but they aren't working to further the goals the elected party that is for sure.

Typically when a new president is elected the old president rides off in the sun if you will, they don't typically try to undermine the new admin regardless if they disagree with them. That is all part of the peaceful transfer of power.

Obama on the other hand, has been pretty vocal about certain things the Trump admin is doing. This is breaking with years of tradition. Obama also decided to stay in DC after the election, not far from the White House... something else that is a break from tradition (the old president typically leaves DC). This has fueled "conspiracy theories" if you will.

They do this stuff because they know the type of reaction that can get from people (especially left wing people), the media feeds into it doing exactly what they wanted from it. And calling Roseanne Barr right wing is really funny. She has been pretty liberal her whole life, as she puts it "You all went so f***ing far out, you lost everyone" talking about people on the left. Just saying I don't agree with everything she put's on twitter but I just find that funny.

Hmmm, I know plenty of collectors that have guns like that who have never hurt a fly and have never gotten into trouble legally. But somehow they have "a horrific psychological problem" for wanting to collect an inanimate object?

Like a lot of people you miss the point of the 2nd amendment. It's not to give everyone guns, just to give everyone a gun. The founding fathers could not even fathom an assault rifle. It's to give legal citizens a way to protect themselves from their government if that government impedes on the rights of the people, and taking away weapons that could match the military limits that (while also impeding on their rights I might add).

You have to view it in the time of when the amendment was written and what the USA was dealing with in regards to the English King when it was formed.

People think we are beyond that today in civilized society or that it isn't logical or needed, but those people I'm afraid failed to learn from history. We are not that civilized.

Personally, I'm all for letting the Parkland kids speak. The problem was the media only cared about speech that was against the 2nd amendment and refused to allow those parkland students that were for the 2nd amendment to speak, and there were supporters. You can't have an open and honest debate about such things if one side isn't given a voice to speak.

I'm also against political parties using kids as a means push political goals regardless of party, which is clearly happening here when it comes to gun rights.

As I said up there, the people have indeed not learned from history. Your government has turned tyrannical. The people who think of themselves as an "armed militia" are saving their bullets for a fictional government that they made up. I know of one Parkland student who parroted the "more guns help" narrative, and he has toured the Mercer/Sinclair media to the point of nausea and was given plenty of opportunity to speak, while at the same time no one from his former classmates, who stand united, has attacked the little guy, as much as the right wing propaganda media have orchestrated that to happen.

Still has jack shit to do with the second amendment! If you needed to repeal that for common sense gun laws - and, again, you really don't, as some state wide decisions have already shown - just do it. Because it would be a step TOWARDS being a civilized country. Your gun laws are fucking you up, it's clear to every other country and more than half of your own.

I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and constitutions. But laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. It's sad that you actually believe that. Not directly related to Parkland, but there is plenty of valid info out there of school teachers, etc with very young children getting them to speak out against gun rights, even bribing them with "prizes". Gun rights is a concept that kids can not and do not understand. They are simply being used and taken advantage of during an emotional situation.

There were people advocating for banning assault weapons or more gun laws like you are, adults, when asked to identify even basic weapons like between an assault weapon or even a single shot weapon or even fake weapons used in movies they could not do it. They had zero knowledge about the things there were advocating against.

Saying stuff like this just shows how crazy you really are. I grew up knowing a black man who was an avid hunter and owned plenty of firearms. Taught his son and grandkids all how to properly own and shoot guns. Never had issue with the law or anybody else because he owed guns.

Oh really? So why do most statics show that hard gun laws like those found in the EU have done very little to help crime rates or even prevent things like terroism or mass shootings? Is it maybe because criminals don't follow the law? I mean I know it's a hard concept.

There are around 270 million to 310 million guns in circulation in America, even if we banned all guns tomorrow... underground shops would pop up over night and anyone that wanted to do harm could easily accomplish it even with guns being banned.

There has not been a high-casualty school shooting in Europe in almost a decade after Germany created a federal gun registry and increased regulation of firearm storage. I just showed you clear examples of strict laws preventing it. That's what "the data is showing". The data is showing that a ban on guns is succesfully maintaining a school shooting rate of 0. Your response is "oh, but it didn't stop ALL the gun violence". Yeah, not all. Clearly, it's not worth just stopping a lot of it and keeping children safe if we can't prevent ALL of it everywhere. I guess we should also stop all health care. I mean, we won't be able to cure everybody, so we might as well cure no one.

I'm not being emotional in response to these situations. I'm being emotional in response to you being a disgusting fucking human being.
