Console games are cheaper. I can buy MGS V right now for PS3 or 4 at half the price as on Steam. 2 years ago I could get MGS V for 10 bucks then too, but then it was on Steam for 50. As a player of both PC and Consoles, consoles are just a better deal.

Your statement is anecdotal at best. Maybe in your specific area console gaming is more popular than PC gaming, but it is not While a gaming PC is more expensive than a console, due to the fact that console publisher are giving them away for less than the production costs, it is also a fact that you can get PC games for far cheaper in sale. Console games rarley go on sale at least not in the time when they are a "current" gen game. PC games go on sale all the time, if you don't NEED to get the game on launch, wait max a year and this game was on some sort of sale for sure.

You don't buy PC games on "full price" aka "asking price". There are always sales coming around the corner where you can get them for dirt cheap. Just wait for the sale to happen and get them When you are like me you got a big game library anyways and can easily wait for a good price, with no need to break your bank for an older title

You dont own the game though. You cant sell it. Up until a few years ago you couldnt even return games. And you cant play it if the platform goes belly up.
Big AAA games you will be able to get cheaper, sooner, on a console, every time. I guess thats my point. Besides that, yall make good points.

You get those even cheaper and even sooner on PC. As for selling it, sure you can do that as well, there's a thriving market for selling/buying serial codes and even entire steam libraries. Sure, you may not be supposed to do that, but neither you are supposed to sell console games either.

Yeah, be sarcastic all you want but it's the truth. Unlike consoles, there's a lot more competition for selling PC games, with a huge variety of sources, like grey markets reselling keys intended for other countries which are cheaper due to regional pricing. You are NOT getting that for consoles. All that competition is good for consumers, while for consoles, competition is stifled by the console makers who get a cut from every sale and control the entire market, no one does the same for PC.

GOG is great example, btw. It used to be competitive but now it isn't for many countries in the world, GOG is basically pricing themselves out compared to other storefronts around the world, for whatever reason, it's cheaper to buy elsewhere than here in certain places.

Yeah games are given away for free too thats a good point I forgot! I just dont like the epic store/launcher so I dont really get my games there, but still its nice to get free things :D

Another important point for PC is.. games don't get redundant so fast. Console games are for this console gen most of the time and thats it, on PC you can play old really old gems after some small issue fixing easy on the latest hardware or operating systems.

yeah, you are right, PC mods rule. Like with all the remaster fads which are basically cash grabs since the same results (if not better) can be achieved with mods :) and then there total conversions which turn games into something else entirely! nothing of the kind is possible on any consoles but then, of course, consoles for those who are too busy or lack the skills to tinker with their stuff.

BTW, regarding EPIC, in case you didn't know, many games there are actually DRM free, so while you need the launcher to download it, you don't need it to play. Many other games are actually tied to other services (like Rockstar or origin or uplay) so once again you don't need epic launcher but the respective game service launcher instead lol ;)

only high end pc gaming is more expensive
for mid range you can get a very good setup for 300-400$ easily and get most games for 30$ or below
+ there are plenty of free or very cheap games + you could set it up to behave like a console remote controllers+ plug a tv onto it
installing games isnt even harder than on consoles

AAA are never cheaper on consoles. What have you been smoking? It's quite the opposite, most games on PC will get discounted mere weeks after launch, while on consoles they pretty much hold their audience hostage all year long.

But for like a 100 more I could buy a Ps5 or an new Xbox and play the latest games on that knowing that for the next 5 or so years I'm covered, yes there is probably gonna be a mid cycle refresh of hardware but a default console bought around launch is going to be handling most games better that a PC bought for equal price at the same time. Source my old ps4 handles most games with the exception of cyber punk ok where as the pc I'd bought round that time really struggles with anything from the last 2-3 years. The secret is in optimization I feel.

Most of the time true on the install front except for when it isn't and then its an utter ball ache to work out what driver or hardware doesn't agree with the game or each other or some odd ball software conflict happens that happens to only like 3% of uses but nobody really know how/why and how to fix it. almost every pc gamer has at least one game that either doesn't work or doesn't work well .

Yep. I've got tons of old games on PC. Been carrying my retail and digital library PC gaming library since 1995. I can still run old classics like Doom, Quake, PST, BG, NWN, etc etc; and modern day classics like DAO and Mass Effect 2 on my current PC.

ME2 runs beautifully at 60fps 1080p, these day and age. Had to do a few mods & fixes - but it's all fine now. And with all of the DLC's from the Bundle Pack (bought from Origin) too.

I must have like over 2000 games on Steam; another 300+ on GOG; and who knows what else on other services (Origin, UbiSoft Connect, Battle.Net, Bethesda.Net, etc etc). And that's not including all my retail-boxed PC games too. Bundle Sites like Fanatical and Humble keep drastically increasing my PC game-count too.

It depends on the game and where you buy it from. If it's a digital release, yeah prices will mostly stay the same. However, physical copies tend to drop in price much faster, as retailers try to make room for newer titles. Same games hold their value longer than others.

And yet, PC games get much cheaper still. Can you get a free AAA title for a console? I think not. Even years after the release, console games still cost a pretty penny. On PC, it's pretty much a given that games can and do go free, even before EPIC came to the scene, now it's a tradition really lol
