So, I was browsing the sale, put a bunch of stuff on the cart, entered my card to pay... and suddenly it all went to German. I went to options, and it seems my language is set to English; and the forum (weirdly enough) is also in English. But the main site and the topside menu is in German.

Da fuq is going on here? How do I set it back to English?

Clear the cookies. Login again and re-set language from the front page - that usually works for me.
That said, I have the problem more often in FF than in Chrome.

Could be Polish afterwards...

Probably detecting a German IP and with the sale, the site is chocking. Check the language setting at the bottom of the main site, it works independently from your account settings.

That seems to have worked. Thanks.

Oh believe me, I'm thinking about it very seriously.
Some asshole built a time machine, went back and assassinated Montgomery and MacArthur.

Germany now controls the entire planet save for New York City which will continue to be owned by the Japanese regardless of what you do to the time space continuum.
Occasionally when I go to the site, everything appears in a foreign language (I think I've seen Russian a few times). Thus far, a simple page refresh has always fixed it back to English for me.

You're welcome. I also strongly dislike seeing the GOG page in German...

Well, I've got a cousin who lives in Gerrmany that I haven't seen in years, and I was going to visit a fellow goglodyte in Mannheim. But the friend is busy till the weekend, and all I could get from my mother was that my cousin lived "somewhere near the black forest"; so I decided to spend the week in Stuttgart and see how things developed. And things are developing towards getting the hell out of here.

Anyway, my point was that there are reasons to come, and people who seem to like it here. But there seem to be way more to get out. That said, it seems today's hostels wifi is pretty decent. Yay.

P1na: ... that I haven't seen in gears...
Sounds painful...

Leaving Germany is good, never even landing here is better:
Radio communication at airport:
BA 747 (Speedbird 206): "Good morning Frankfurt. Speedbird 206 clear to active."
Ground: "Good Morning. Taxi to your gate."
The British Airways 747 pulls onto the main taxiway and stops.
Ground: "Speedbird, do you know where you are going?"
Speedbird 206: "Stand by, ground. I'm looking up the gate location now."
Ground (impatiently): "Speedbird 206, have you never flown to Frankfurt before?"
Speedbird 206 (coolly): "Yes, in 1944. But I didn't stop..."

It would probably be more painful if I had seen her in gears.
