Chielus86: Oh look, an Italian pretending to be superior then others, dehumanizing them in the same effort.
Didn't study history much hey?
Enebias: Now you go for the racist card? Didn't study history much hey?
Wow. That's low even for the internet's standards.
If you said discrimination, it would be somewhat correct. But the race card, as a fellow Caucasian... No it's not. Funny how you where done with the topic, yet reply in 42 seconds flat.

Vendor-Lazarus: Which would betray both your anti-china stance, and the anti-DRM stance. I.E being a hypocrite.
Chielus86: This comment hurts, mainly because it is true, as happens with most true words. Yes, I do have a steam account and no, I haven't purchased anything last few years. If Steam had the (again: great policy) of downloading your games DRM free as GoG does, I would have left it years ago. You may wish to review this thread for a discussion of other DRM-free suppliers (it includes "DRM-Lite" also) though some of these may present issues of their own.
I'd agree that GOG's behaviour here has been questionable to say the least - if their decision to not list Devotion was based on gamer feedback, then why in hell are Beamdog's products still listed here? However it is a decision that GOG can review and change, while deleting your account (as opposed to just not making any further purchases which would have the same impact) is irrevocable - anyone considering this should be sure that they have multiple backup copies of their offline installers.

Robette: Reminds me of that time when the EU was eying sanctioning Poland over their disregard to democratic standards... ah, wait, that is now.
Too bad EU in itself is not democratic. And EU constantly breaks its own rules, like EU countries bailing out each others.vsr: Are you trying to tell me that you will love China when it will turn from communism to democracy?
I do not believe you. Because Russia turned from communism to democracy and it is still the most, №1 hated country on the West and NATO-block countries.
It is not democratic for the leaders to poison the opposition, by hiding the poison in the victim's underpants no less. UNDERPANTS!!! I do not believe you. Because Russia turned from communism to democracy and it is still the most, №1 hated country on the West and NATO-block countries.
I think Russia is nowadays closer to fascism than democracy.

Well said. As I mentioned eariier:
"People like to do virtue-signalling when it is convenient for them." Wait, what? You dislike Russian regime, but you like Putin?
Aren't they, like, pretty much the same thing?

I personally have no problem with companies doing business with China.
Chinese economy is a reality that we must accept, as we don't live on an island that is secluded from the rest of the world.
That said, one thing is to do business with China, a complete different beast is to actively boycott a developer because they ask you to, for political reasons.
This is flat out wrong.
Which is why I didn't buy anything on sale and I plan not to, despite a couple good deals I've seen. I plan to buy my games somewhere else entirely, from now on.

It is not a "political reason" for GOG. Quite on the contrary, GOG made the decision because they want to stay the heck away from the political debacle that that game has caused. It has nothing to do with GOG thinking Chinese regime is cool or "Taiwan is part of China" etc. It is similar if someone published a game that has a picture of Mohammad (which would piss off all muslims in the world, just ask Charlie Hebro). or a game which ridiculates the late king of Thailand (which would piss off most Thai people).
If GOG decided not to release such a controversial game that pisses off many people, does it mean they approve islamic terrorism, or the current problems in Thai democracy?
No, of course not. It would just mean that GOG doesn't want such political debacles into its store, most probably for busines reasons (= money).
Oh, you mean Soviet Union, not "communist Russia".
Putin is ex-KGB though. Poisoning the opposition is so KGB.
BTW I recently saw this Russian movie:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7352942/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
I felt it was a pretty good movie, albeit... damn Russian saunas are weird!

But banning the game "Muhammed Tournament Fighter" because it would upset a billion potential customers is something different then banning a game because it would insult the political dictator of a single country. Again, muslims are all over the world and it would echo around the world.
Now they are taking actions on behalf of a single political leader, of a single party, in a single country... And manage to upset the world by doing so.
It was a dumb move.

Account removal is due before the 21st of February. And yes, you are correct that I have nothing better to do at this moment. You are also correct that I tried to make my voice heard by making a topic (shocker, I know right). But that I'm in it for the "social karma thingies", my dearest... I could not care less about any of that. But it makes me wonder, why did you make your reply? Was it for the social karma thingies?

"I come with sarcasm" ;) #projection
First of all I made it just for fun and because of the obvious irony here (but you're not the first and certainly not the last either), and secondly I use an add-on that hides all that meaningless points and low-rates (which GOG are incapable of fixing, or better, remove).
Anyway, happy thoughts and have a good journey, once you're on your way that is...
