I would like it if there was at least pandora tomorrow also.
Hey, its still one fourth of the series. Like, SC1, SC: Pandora Tomorrow, SC: Chaos Theory and SC: Blacklist and GOG has one of the four that were ever released.

Blacklist was pretty good.. only thing I didn't like was the new voice actor. I think it was better than conviction at least.
Pandora Tomorrow might be difficult - there were some major technical issues that prevent that game from working with modern video hardware.

Chaos Theory... there's no excuse. It's the best in the series, by far, and there's nothing that should impede it from being here..

Beyond that, I don't really think we're missing much. The first 3 SC games are all great, though, and should be here.

That doesn't say much considering how awful Conviction was but I agree Blacklist was surprisingly good, probably my favourite in the series after Chaos Theory.

I feel like no release of Splinter Cell can be complete without that amazing nuclear power plant mission that was exclusive to the PS2 version. They didn't include it in the PS3 remaster either. It was one of my favourites ;—;

What was wrong with Conviction? Changing up a game's style, stopping it from being stale is no reason to diss it. It was a fun game. Some good mechanics. Some really awesome design choices. Only thing I hate about that game and the follow up is the lack of a save system. Fecking check points. I think it was a very good breath of fresh air. It might of hurt fan boys mind you.

I liked it, never finished it though. :l
That mission where you need to run through security gates was the worst.
Blacklist was really fun, wish it didn't lock some stuff behind co-op.

I don't know, it just rubbed me the wrong way. I also had numerous technical issues not including crashes, poor performance even with a good computer, first and last game I had to play with both Steam and uPlay (never again 2 clients). I remember I didn't enjoy the map layout, some characters pissed me off. The execution mechanics was ok but nothing that saved it for the others things. What specific design choices did you consider awesome?

The only good memory I had of that game is the mystery conspiracy organization that is only revealed in name but no agenda or characters which made it a continued mystery rather than "just some other organization wanting power".
Did anyone else ever encounter that bug where the game steadily becomes slower and slower the longer you play? Once you restart the game the speed is fine again, but if you don't it gradually starts to feel like everything happens in slow motion, without a noticeable fps drop. I encountered it in the original, pandora tomorrow and in double agent.

Pretty sure I did get that bug in the original game too.

I bought the retail boxes for Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory a few years ago. Splinter Cell worked, but was kinda buggy. Pandora Tomorrow runs, but there's so many graphical glitches with modern video drivers that it's unplayable. Chaos Theory was and still is perfect on PC as far as I know. And it's an awesome game to boot. I'll bet that's the next one we see here.

I bought the remastered trilogy on PS3 just play to Pandora again since I sold my original X-Box, but even that remaster is poorly done with frame rate issues.

I'd like to play the Splinter Cell franchise for the first time, starting with Chaos Theory. Am I missing important story elements and plot points if I ignore SC1 and Pandora Tomorrow?

Hell, the original SC doesn't work right with modern video hardware. That doesn't stop GoG from selling it.

Yeah, Michael Ironside would've been a boss on this older Sam Fisher. He sounds so generic with him. Ironside had that kind of seen-all-done-all veteran voice and the new one seems like something that could've come from Assassin's Creed.

I agree. It might be a good game but not a good SC game.
