I've set English as my language in my settings. But every now and then, GOG decides that I must use the German version of the site, because I am in Germany. To remedy that I have to change the language setting to German and back to English each time and all just because GOG thinks it knows better than I do which language I want to use. (Or because GOG screwed up again)

Any idea how to stop that permanently? It's annoying and I don't want to use the German site, even though I am in Germany. And when I'm travelling I will surely not want to use the Chinese or Russian site, just because I happen to be in those countries.

During my trip to Russia a couple of weeks ago my GOG changed to Russian indeed. Thankfully I only had to change the language once. I had already memorized where to do it in case this happened.

I wonder if it's related to the change of allowed curencies? While in Russia the website didn't display euros as an option, only dollars or rubles. So the site needs to reload and by default language is also changed?

But in your case, if you're already in Germany and have selected English, it should remember your settings.

Yes, it should. Unfortunately it doesn't.

But perhaps the problem will disappear when GOG is done with breaking it's website for the 10-th anniversary.

The info for the language setting is saved in a cookie.
Now and then a cookie gets deleted or corrupted, then GOG can't remember your choice.
Those pesky updates for Win, which Microsoft sends without a warning, are mostly the reason.

(was about to write a joke regarding "Ein GoG", but most likely I will be banned for that :D)

It happend for me too in past. Sometimes GaG break something on their side, so thats kinda normal. But, as user, you can only be sure that your browser doesnt auto-delete GaG-related cookies

The Windows-Update stuff isn't the problem, since I use Linux. But the auto-delete is a good hint. Actually my settings are such that cookies have a limited life time. I'll whitelist GOG-cookies and allow them to be persistent and see whether that helps. Thank you, Gekko!
