No, chickens.
Ducks roar.
Chickens, ducks, they all end up on the dinner plate.

Anyways, on the sequel thing. If it's not a case where I can import characters, and I am desperate to know how it ends, I generally wind up watching/reading a Let's Play. I prefer to read them because *shrug* I just do. However, if characters can be imported then there's no way I'm budging on to the next in a series without finishing the previous one. Not happening.

What if characters can be imported, but doing so isn't a good idea for whatever reason? (For example, because characters that are good in one game are terrible later in the series (Pool of Radiance series for example), or because the character transfer routine has serious bugs.)

If the character transfer routine has serious bugs it probably shouldn't be there. >_<

I'm still importing those suckers. Then again, I play Dwarf Fortress to relax so ehhh, there might be something wrong with me. If it honestly causes the new game to bug out and there is no other way, then I will make a new char/party as close to the original as possible. Including modding if I have to.

The Dragon Age Origins DLC let you import your main character. If you use any dlc armour you go in naked without it though. >_<
Now that's just hilarious. That's not a bug, that's a feature!

It was really weird playing the Awakening Expansion anyway, as I chose for my character to die at the end.
The dlc assumes you chose a different option if you import as it would be impossible without it. :P
Just seems like poor writing but whatever.
Not like they could've just used a different character and give them your weapons/armour.
Yeah, sometimes you really have to tilt your head to make the story make sense.

NWN II is the same way. The Mask of the Betrayer expansion really only makes sense if you chose the good ending. Going evil at the end of NWN II... well it ends radically different. At the same time though, the expansion makes zero sense starting with a new char. Then again, with fantasy games it's generally easy to just think of some sort of divine intervention/magic/aliens to explain the discontinuities. An active role is sometimes needed in filling in the holes. Or even the entire story-line, heh.

The thing is the game got confused when I imported that save into Dragon Age 2.
As my character both did and did not die. xD
It helps that the main character is different in DA2.
