kohlrak: I think you need to stop wasting so much water.

How do you know how much water you're wasting or what task i'm using as an example? I don't know, i refused to point it out to you. Then again, maybe that's part of the point: if you pointed out what was wrong, maybe i'd point out that it is a waste of time as it doesn't cause confusion (the point of grammar rules is to prevent confusion).

Darvond: Well, there's a few simple tests that can be done.

Try reading aloud any of those run on paragraphs. There's a reason why paragraphs exist to separate thoughts. That first wall of text especially, I'd disqualify the entire writing and tell you to do it again with proper room for the words to breathe instead of packing them together like sardines.
Paragraphing is about changing ideas, and the pattern is obvious: Balrum, central point, examples, secondary point, summary.. If you're going to be a grammar nazi, at least know about the grammar about which you're complaining, or go after a wiser target, like the one above the one above mine.

Now, if you're willing to accept it's a formatting issue not a grammar issue, you'll also see it looks alot nicer and is easier to follow in a text editor that's fullscreen. GOG's terrible layout is a known issue. Go complain to them.
Please stay on topic people!

Crosmando: You're gay.

Darvond: And this helps you countermand the point I made, even in jest howso?
If you're following a niche subset of an already existing niche group, well, not a strong example. Then again, maybe i'm just biased against swim teams or something, and that's why i (and presumably the other guy) would find this less entertaining than watching ants carry a fingernail away, even if this were to be live action with Clint Eastwood, William Shatner, John Cleese and a few other wildly different actors who have no excuse to be on the same set.

Edit: Alrighty, why else might anime be successful?

Indeed it is. The developers are ethnically Asian in Canada and they love anime as seen in their youtube interviews.

I would have bought more anime games but it seems that their prices are increasing rapidly these days to the point that the prices match Triple A title games.
I can only speak for myself, but aside from the artstyle (which I prefer over the more realistic styles but it's only a minor factor) I like them because of the heavier focus of Story and/or characters before gameplay and graphics. Something which seems to become increasingly rare in western productions aside from a few exceptions.

There's also the point that they tend to make more turn based combat systems instead of flooding hte market with action based games, but that's only a genre preference and I'm not sure how much that adds to the popularity of the games (maybe a bit because they cover a gap in the market).

That is the 50% of it. The other 50% is, "fanservice".

Crosmando: It's escapism, in real-life they look at women and see ugly, fat monstrosities with blue hair telling you to check your privilege, they look at anime and see cute, demure perfect waifus.
I don't know if i should laugh, or if i should cry; sad as is, even my place is quickly devolving into such a... Well, "charismatic", "different" utopia of "bliss"... *Cough*!

When the current wave of crybabies leave, would you two mind going with them?

Son, nobody orders me around or tells me where to go and especially, with WHOM. Now, back on topic; anime games are censored only whenever they port over, to snowflake-land! Exactly as anime does. But still, you can get your paws on the full, uncensored stuff, by ways and means.

Western games aren't so lucky and whenever they are axed, they are axed, that's that and this is all there is to it.

I find the art style pleasing, but just because it's anime themed doesn't guarantee an instabuy. Oddly enough last night I had a dream GOG acquired all the Touhou games.

Do you mean just the mainline games, or the 700¹⁰⁰ fangames as well?
For me, I think part of it is the general style - but then, I like cartoons too. Rather, I dislike real-world aesthetics. Being somewhere on the autistic spectrum, I have a hard time understanding the faces of real-world people, and was brought up without much in the way of companionship.

Basically, it is easier to connect with animated characters than real world people, in no small part because I can "read" them. Games that go for photorealism also don't gel with me - in fact, I have a harder time navigating them.

+1 for serious and insightful comment.
