gibbeynator: And above Zenimax is 1C, who get final say on what gets released in Russia and how it's released.
Barry_Woodward: Doesn't GOG already have a relationship with 1C? Edit: We're also forgetting that quite a bit of stuff that Bethesda has, mostly from id, are forbidden from being sold in Germany.

I think at this point regional pricing is a foregone conclusion for pretty much everything. Good luck with "one world" when "extra profit for no effort" appears. Regional LOCK is the real issue it seems.
I would sincerely hope locking never comes here. Pricing is bullshit, but at least we all still get the same product. Locking is more into the arbitrary "fuck the hyenas, Simba" territory.

Yeah, I already had an issue with regional pricing, but region locking seems much, much worse and more DRM-like. It's really strange: here there are thousands, if not millions of people that want to play id Software games on GOG, and these companies continue to stonewall. It's really sad. :(I would sincerely hope locking never comes here. Pricing is bullshit, but at least we all still get the same product. This I agree with. Fair price package kind of makes up for regional pricing in my book, though many others don't see it that way, but region locking can eff off. Let everyone have access to the same product.

Their real concern is will gog region lock the game content wise not pricing , dont forget that some of id games are outright banned in many locations.
That might be the reason plus they might have read some of the nasty comments the people here made when fallout was pulled

Barry_Woodward: Aren't there games already on GOG that contain content banned in Germany? I'm pretty sure there's nothing restricting Germans from purchasing those games. Bethesda is a big fish and they have some pretty high responsibility for the content and where and who can access it, they could easily face public backlash and lawsuits if they bypass since they are watched carefully by the public and media. Remember they took on notch a few years ago and did not back out till it was settled just because he was using a part of the name of one of their main games.
