Are you saying you've never had that happen before? No boomer or Xer ever complained about "kids these days" and talking fondly about the old days? The days where they had to remember phone numbers, spend a whole weekend at the library to borrow books and do research, saying 60s-80s music was better than what we have today, etc. and chastising on how entitled, narcissistic, lazy, spoiled, and less respectful everyone is today?
It's all nostalgia or false memory bias. I cannot tell you how often older people vented to me about this stuff during volunteering and work. Honestly, just old, impatient people frustrated with their aging lives pining for their fleeting youth that they'll never get back, so they take it out on innocent young people all around them. Though they conveniently ignore how much better technology, internet, and streamlining of outdated practices has made our lives better and more efficient for those who know how to use those tools well.
