JakobFel: Sure, it's not the United States in and of itself, but we were a huge part of laying down the infrastructure, the standards, the customs for the internet.
PookaMustard: And people outside of the USA have the right to not only use the internet but to have a pleasant experience using it, free of your bullshit. "What I'm saying is not illegal to USA law!!" is neither a valid defense for breaking online rules nor is it a good one.
JakobFel: They shouldn't be there to police every action of everyone so that overly-sensitive folks don't get triggered.
PookaMustard: Sure, let's not moderate everything at all. I'm sure it'll go down great when your vibrant community whittles down to a bunch of internet trolls talking about thicker skins, people getting offended, sensitivity, and the evil "DEI and current-day ideologies".
JakobFel: I haven't looked at the mods myself but if the mod removes a character that's historically inaccurate, that's not racist.
PookaMustard: At this point you're getting banned on a forum with real moderation with no chance for an appeal. You not only broke "no racism" but also you doubled down on it. The rest of your paragraph solidifies the case against you.
JakobFel: For a community like GOG, which promotes DRM-free (which, in GOG's founder's own words, is
freedom), one would think most of y'all would agree that players should have that right even if you personally disagree with their mod idea.
PookaMustard: Again, GOG is not the US government so no First Amendment. It's a Polish business and it has a CoC. They have the right to platform whatever they want, and we have the right to voice our opinions and continue business with them or not. I've clearly said this mod shouldn't be linked here because it breaks a few rules such as openly being homophobic or racist among others. Not only that but these are rules that have been present on the internet since
forever before internet trolls intertwined their rhetoric with US politics.
me you didn't actually read my post.
