As far as I can see, the movie selection is pretty crummy, if they had some good old classics i personally wouldnt mind purchasing some for my collections.

(eg: Wizard of Oz, Gilda, Cool Hand Luke, It's A Wonderful Life, Space Odyssey, Rebel Without A Cause, etc.)
Good question. I wonder who is to blame... Seems like they've been neglecting movie releases and promotion which is a shame.
As it appears GOG pretty much gave up on the movies section of the store. Have there been any new entries in the last six months? I can't recall a single one. Perhaps it's just not worthwhile for them. Wouldn't surprise me at all.

bela555: Because everybody want to watch Home Alone movies only.
I guess only hungarians understand this :P

Breja: You kidding? We had an actuall, massive campaing of sending angry letters the one time our public TV didn't have Home Alone for christmas :D
Yup, in France too it's the Franchise of Eternal Christmas Reruns, along with "la Caverne de la Rose d'Or" ("Fantaghiro"), "Asterix chez les Bretons" and Dinotopia ^^

You guys are lucky. I remember that series from when I was a kid, I really liked it. Unfortunately they have not shown up on TV here in ages, and I could never find it on DVD with polish or english subtitles.

Also consider that many movies go on blowout sale anyway. Think Walmart for the holidays various years sell plenty of old DVD's at $1 or $2 a piece and TV series often at $10 a season. For most people they will buy them to watch them once. And with Streaming services like Netflix, it's even cheaper than that if you only care about seeing it once and watch enough movies in a month.

Movies were a mistake. $5.99 for 2 hours of game play...I mean...TV watching?

Moonbeam: Stargate series would be nice:)

Matruchus: Oh, yes SG-1 and Atlantis definitely. Or maybe Babylon 5, X-Files or Andromeda. Damn so many good sci-fi series to choose from :)
You forgot Firefly, the best of them all.

I've already got Babylon 5 (of course), but Star Gate would be neat, since the local DVD box is faulty. The order of the episodes is mixed up and many people had the problem of some non-functional discs.

Yeah, the problem is I that I never saw Firefly besides that TV movie (Serenity) so I kind off don't relate to it but definitely would love to see it here.

I believe Serenity was actually a full-blown theatrical feature film. Not that it probably had a very big budget, as far as one measures these things, and it certainly wasn't very successful in the mainstream, but it wasn't some Syfy original movie, either.

That's very unfortunate since the movie plays after the series.
It's full of spoilers, does all the mistakes Firefly doesn't make (sound in space, pewpew spacefights without end, lots of severe logic fails and bad out of character decisions, meh story, etc...), screws up any imaginable future canon in many ways and shouldn't exist. I've just seen it (Serenity from 2005).
Watch the series instead, it's completely different imho.
