Exactly. I'd really like to hear GOG's stance on this, as it doesn't really motivate people to write comprehensive, thought-out reviews, which are a fundamental part of a gaming community. Stars look nice and all that, but it's people's opinions on games I'm interested in reading about when pondering whether or not to buy a game I didn't know about or am on the fence about.

I don't mean to be rude, but since when? XD

It's because of this community that I totally ignore the reviews. When I want to know about a game I come in here and ask.
Heh, not rude at all. I get where you're coming from, as you can just as easily find biased, vitriol-filled reviews (or, conversely, rose-tinted lovefests). Still, the well-thought reviews written with care are a fundamental part of it, and make up for the chaff.

Besides the community part, not everyone will participate in message boards, but most everyone is likely to read the reviews on the individual game pages. It's still important.
