It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Why has every single game I've attempted to download and play (including new purchases) failed to install? I'm using Firefox as my browser (6.3.2) and Windows is my OS (most current version).

For the past two weeks, I have been unable to play most of my library, and when I attempt to "verify install" the system tries to download updates and then, invariably, fails to successfully install them for an unspecified reason. Whne I tried to find out what was going on a week or so ago, I saw a post that said the GOG team was working on the problem, but the problem still persists and I haven't seen any messages or updates on this topic since.

I'd really like an answer on this one GOG folks.

I'm sorry, it DOES specify a reason, though it seems kind of generic. It says the reason for failure to install is a "Configuration Error." Since it's the system trying to configure my install, I have been assuming that the problem is with the installer itself. Am I wrong?

It sounds like a Galaxy problem. Stop using Galaxy?

either uninstall and reinstall all of Galaxy or put in a ticket with support
The uninstall/reinstall does seem to have worked. Thank you for that suggestion, @Tallima.

Unfortunately, I now need to reinstall all 72 of my GOG games. *sigh* That will take months given that I'm on a satellite connection...

You shouldn't need to install games you already have installed; just verify them or make sure GOG is pointed to the right directory.

And if you already have them locally downloaded, you can just run those installers and then point Galaxy at those.

Why would you need 72 games installed at any point ever anyways? Are you playing 6 games an hour?
As your running Windows, and likely have everything known to man installed, your system is likely right up the wall. If it was me, clean windows install, then the 3 or 4 apps I need, then a game or two installed outside windows folders, then proper cleanup when I have finished with something. Amazing how few problems you then encounter.

Why did you uninstall all of the games?

If you didn't uninstall them then they should all still be there, you just need to tell Galaxy that they're there.

If you are on crappy internet, I'd suggest you download the offline (standalone) installers of the games, and install the games with them.

That way you don't have to redownload the games whenever you want to reinstall them, even if you reinstall Windows.
