This character is easy one since even I guessed game correctly. But without google was unable to remembered his name. So I'm out for this round.

That's Rosso (play on Rousseau?), the Paris detective from Broken Sword - Circle of Blood (the first game).

I've seen the game on the shelf, and some of the ghosty stuff in the pictures reminded me of it. I didn't know the character was actually named Geist, though.
