Hint: if this wouldn't be a game, we could call him William...
Hint 2: If this would be a particular other genre of entertainment, we could call him Sean, too. ;)
Hint 3: the game was developed by a Spanish studio.

Fucking hell. I understood the clues but couldn't connect them to a videogame. I didn't know that thing existed.

It is https://store.steampowered.com/app/474030/The_Abbey_of_Crime_Extensum/ ?

As sorry, game rules. Yeah, it seems they call Baskerville "William of Occam" there ?

Hmmm... I made the connection too, and *I did know* about The Abbey of Crime, but the character model posted by BreOl72 surely doesn't belong to this game (neither the original nor the Extensum remake).
I assume it'd come from a cutscene ?

Of from a little known game which last copy burned in a huge online library fire.

Interesting... The version you can get from the game's website it's less than 20MB once decompressed and it contains a big .jar file, a couple of scripts for running it, and the PDF manuals. On the other hand, the versions from Steam are much larger in size (150~180MB). So maybe the Steam version does contain some cutscenes after all?

Given the hints, I thought it must be one of the adventure games by Pendulo Studios, but they don't seem to have done anything related to The Name of the Rose...

You're generally on the right track, but I'm sorry:
It's neither the right game, nor the right name.
OK, so it looks like it's Leonardo, from Murder in the Abbey (or simply, The Abbey), by Spanish studio Alcachofa Soft.

It is Leonardo of Toledo, from The Abbey...you're correct. :)

It's your turn...
