darthspudius: Why did you pick San Andreas? You could have picked a more overrated, flawed, ugly game if you tried? Now the Red Dead games and GTA V are considerably better than CDPR.

GeraltOfRivia_PL: GTA San Andreas has a lot of content

V has borderline no content and 0 things to do

Try RDR2 that game has a lot of content. GTA V is barebones

I completed GTA San Andreas in 40h. GTA V took me 80h.

I liked The Witcher 1 and 2 a lot, 3 felt a little too controlled but still a good game. but Vice City is Vice City for the sake of the topic so you know

Linko64: VALVE
Considering what kind of effects Half-Life, Counter-Strike, and Steam have had on the entire gaming, at least it is probably the most influential company of all times. Whether the games are the best possible, is a matter of opinion.

Half-Life has many great things in it, like those non-cinematic cutscenes and sequels which tell the same story from a different perspective, but is it the best game ever, probably not. Personally I enjoyed the previously discussed Max Payne more.
Nintendo R&D 1.

Though Linko actually makes a strong point for Valve. They might take their goddamed time, but heck if they don't make the wait worth it.

As for CDPR vs Rockstar:

Neither. Rockstar has lost the plot at this point and CDPR is downright an abusive boyfriend studio.

Rockstar's chase for hyperrealistic horse testicles has made it clear they've forgotten how to have fun. So much of RDR2 is having to watch long drawn out animations that nobody but a complete geek for that specific area would care about.

As for CDPR: "Work your legs off until they fall off, then we'll bolt you to a chair so you can keep working until your arms fall off..." is not a good policy in a world increasingly critical of practices like that.

You have the right to express your opinion. Except for maybe Baldur's Gate 2, no game is perfect.

However i actually liked the realism in RDR2. It makes you feel more immersed. Many games like Assassin's Creed, the Witcher, or Cyberpunk are more "gamey". In RDR2 both animals and people behave like real people. In most games when you fall from a height, you will get some HP points deducted and that's it. In RDR2 you will FEEL your character's pain as he falls down

Bullhonky. I felt the impact of getting hit in Hollow Knight than anything I've ever seen in RDR2.

I don't know how to describe it, but i will try. In most games physics have sort of a ragdoll feeling. This game does not have that
I don't have Cyberpunk 2077 or red dead redemption 2, but i can tell that the witcher serie is one of best game experience, they might make a mistake with cyberpunk but it shouldn't remove all the good things they made with the witcher serie so i think cdpr for me.

It did that, though.
Would you lend a thief your money again after having it stolen before?

It's not about who is the best company but who make the best games between those 2.
And for the thieves par, The PC version seems good after reading comment, just the old 2013 console that have a problem and they got their refund for those version so i don't see a thief, the only problem is that they say the console version are fine but they don't lie about PC version and honestly it was obvious that the game woudn't play well on these old console even with 30 years of developpement, magic doesn't exist.

I honestly don't know what makes GTA V more popular than RDR2. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that it was one of the last major AAA releases for PS3 and X360, so people have more nostalgia for it as it was "the last big hit" of those years. I haven't played it on PS3, but from the vids i have watched this game really does look impressive on old hardware.

However, RDR 2 simply blows it out of the water in every aspect. Just take the story, for instance. In GTA V the story is... okay-ish, but ultimately falls flat. RDR2's story is not perfect, it also falls flat in many aspects, but it has one hundred times more memorable moments.

Gameplay wise, there is no comparison.
Considering I've put over 700 hours into 5 CDPR games combined and fewer than 200 into all the Rockstar games I've played, I'll go with CDPR.

Rockstar also practices abusive crunch and has one of the worst work environments in gaming. Not defending CDPR here, but Rockstar isn't any better and in fact is possibly much worse in that regard.
