1: Our building janitor has been a rock-star. He's never not cleaning, and doesn't gripe more than any other Ukrainian
ex-pat, (if you've ever known a Ukrainian, you know what I mean). Vassily, you are a stud, and a bottle of good potato vodka is on me.
2: The apartment night manager, Mary is a Muppet goddess. She is very Christian and conservative and about five foot nothing, but she is really fierce in defense of the people who live here. She doesn't drink or smoke, and probably wouldn't like to be hugged, so a bloom of roses for you dear.
3: My former co-worker/supervisor Lauren. If she wasn't a lesbian I'd be madly in love with her.(no, I am still madly in love with her but know that's a no-go). She taught me so much about being, and being authentic. She's in one ICU, her wife is in another (they were both front-line working with homeless folk). She deserves good beer, vegan junk food, and a rocking bong hit.
4: My cousin Peggy, a pediatric nurse with two teens at home, and a husband who used to be the main breadwinner but is now unemployed. I have no clue how she is staying so sane and so kind , but whatever she's taking, I want some. I love her more than words can say
