Jade Empire, basically Kotor in Wuxia world. Impossible Creatures is a fun RTS. I've heard good things about Death to Spies, but haven't got it.

Try Empire Earth if you like RTS and Civ4 if you like TBS. Both are really great games from what I've heard and you can find people gushing about both on their respective forums. Civ4 also has a lot of mods so that's always a plus.

Alpha Centauri is ridiculously cheap ($0.89 US), if you end up with a little change leftover from your other purchases. Great TBS.

I shill for Pajama Sam, especially Vol. 1, but I don't think that's your genre of choice. :P

Might I recommend Darkwood? It fucking rocks and it's €9.79 currently, so it fits right within your budget.

If you'd like to get several games for the same price - oldies but goldies! - I heartily recommend buying the Thief trilogy (Which are 1.69, 2.09 and 2.09 respectively. Thief Gold is the cheapest at 1.69 and easily the best. It's a must have!) and the System Shock series (two games for €1.29 each - Shock 1 is a bit dated and the interface is a bit clunky, but the second one holds up to this day as arguably the best horror game ever made - along with Thief Gold and Darkwood).

This is a mistake that you will bitterly regret one day, when you'll finally play it and think of all the times you had lost earlier opportunities to do so.
