karnak1: This end of year has been a good reflex of how 2016 was on GOG: lots of sales and very few things of note.
I repeat what I wrote in other posts: Only exception was 2K and and Civ games coming aboard.
Dragon Age, Crysis, etc... meh.
acute71: EA was a highlight for me. But even more Nordic THQ and Daedalic. They (Nordic and Daedalic) seem to take their GOG customers as seriously as their Steam customers. Sadly they are exceptions among the bigger publishers on board.
If I may make a wish for 2017 I hope GOG can convince big publishers to publish their "older titles" on GOG. Titles 3, 4, 5 years old. These titles most likely were already on sales with 70% discounts. They are not attractive for pirates anymore.
Yeah sorry, I like to play big AAA titles with great graphics and great voice acting.
Most people do. Which is why this has been a bad year for most people in this thread.
I'm personally a lot more happy when I see a release of a cult classic or unknown good indie. I know famous games will have it a lot easier for game preservation anyway.
I don't care when bethesda's game will come here.
The most disappointing thing for me has been the huge amount of indie rejections on GOG's part, and specially of point & click adventure games. Also, the number of releases, even though statistics say that increases over the years, is stil too low to keep up with the amount of worthwhile games being released. So that will add to the ever increasing pool of good (old) games missing.
And no, I'm not saying they should remove curation, but they should tune it a lot better. This week they only released one game so far (and a good one at that). They rejected at least
Her Majesty's Spiffing (a point&click)... and what did we get instead? It wasn't because they're full of releases...
