The original is a classic, no evidence that this "remaster" warrants the classic label. Anymore than applying a Widescreen mod to BG makes it "enhanced".

I think GOG wants to be more careful about what they "complete", after the backlash they received for the Grim Fandango wishlist entry edit. The DOTT entry with 17k votes is for the DOS original, and it's a shame we didn't get that along with the remake.

GOG has just been too busy to deal with that, given the sale.

Separate releases of the DOS versions running in ScummVM or DOSBox is a must. The current releases are missing Mac and/or Linux versions and a good portion of customers of all OS persuasions would just like the no-frills originals at a lower price point.

Lolwut, you really think people would pay twice to get the originals? You shouldn't encourage bad behavior, the originals should be bundled with the remasters as [free] extras or not at all.

It's not about people paying twice (although some obviously would), it's about having options. You're assuming everyone has already purchased the current versions. Not so. It would be cheaper for those that haven't and have no interest in the "fresh coat of paint" versions to pay a lower price point for ScummVM / DOSBox versions. Yes, of course the originals should also be made available for free to owners of the current releases, but including Mac and Linux installers in the bonus sections of remasters that exclude those OSes would confusing for enough customers to be problematic for both GOG and Disney. Ideally they'd sell the originals for $5.99 and offer them free as separate entries for owners of the remasters.
