So, no new game today.

Grargar: Well, I guess that we shouldn't be expecting a fully-finished game today. Hopefully, we'll still get Bombshell tomorrow.

haydenaurion: Jeez, didn't realize that came out that soon.
Yeah, it's end of the month already.
Honestly I've been quite disappoint with the releases on gog so far this year not to mention now we just get some early access games. Hmph. Maybe I'll look at this site in a few weeks time or something.

SCPM: Looks like GOG's version of early-access is here. We got Starbound, Project Zomboid, Curious Expedition, TerraTech, and Ashes of the Singularity.

Meh .
Hmmm... games in development.

I guess it may be a good move for GoG. My take on this is that it may very well attract more people from the Steam crowd over to GoG. But, to be honest, I've never liked Steam, though I don't exactly hate it either. It's just not for me.

I'm here for the good'ol'games. Always was. While I might buy something more recent if it appeals to me, I don't usually have the hardware specs to keep up with the latest games or the time to play them.

Now that GoG is growing from a niche market to a same-as-Steam segment, I'm concerned that they'll turn out to be more Steam-like than the awesome make-the-oldies-work-on-modern-computers shop they initially were. Hope I'm wrong about that.
I wonder what is the ratio between GOOD old games and indie games released on gog in lets say past 6 months?

We've gotten some great stuff like Bethesda/id and D&D. The beginning of the year has felt a little dull though; I continue to hope we'll see some fresh stuff (either old or new) from big-name publishers.

It is not exactly about old versus indie games but about old versus new games:

Well, instead of one 100% ready for sale game release we got a bunch of 30-50% ready for sale early access games. That kinda adds up to one complete release. Maybe someday we can look forward to paying $9.99 to look at some alpha level screenshots.

Thanks for the info..but it seems to me that a majority of these new games are indie indeed :) i see very few aaa titles
It's been a while since we've had one of those "Holyshitwow!" GOG moments where a new big publisher comes on board, or some amazing games show up, or some other major thing. It seems they usually cluster such things together within a few week window of each other though too. Not sure if that is a coincidence or if they do it for suspense, but I can feel the suspense building... :)

You would need to ask JMich. He usually keeps track of these things :)

NuffCatnip: On the one hand: yay, Starbound (even though I love Starbound, the updates take forever...)
on the other hand: early access all over again :/

Whats giving me hope that this is going to work (contrary to Steam) is that gog actually pays attention to the quality of games, sometimes theyre taking that even too far (I mean rejecting so many good titles).
Your missing the point we already get pre-releases.

My suspense has worn off. Especially after that last debacle with the rolling till they sell out sales (you know the one where everyone was putting in false positive reviews for Jack Keane).

To be honest; I had that moment when Stardock out of the blue decided to release their Steam onlys here about 2 months ago, while just a short time before the SD boss said no to everything but Steam; so its not like it was ages when we got something completely unexpected. Similar also with the X series; did not really expected them showing up here.

Holy that was like 2+ years ago... "Let it Go(TM)" :) I'm not a big fan of the Insomnia sales either personally but they're never going to please 100% of everyone with every single thing they do and people need to stop expecting them to IMHO as it's unrealistic. :)

Hmm, I don't even know what Stardock is... googling...

... ah, ok I'm familiar with the names of the games but never really registered the company name in my head.

I was kind of thinking of something bigger than that along the lines of "holy shit, we have Disney/LucasArts now!" level of awesome. :)
