Tarm: If it works well GOG gets more bargaining power to get more classic games. I'm not fond of early access games either but if it can help GOG get their hands on more classic games I say Good Luck GOG!
Let's hope this is actually how it will go. And not the opposite, as in "due to the success of Early-Access, we will now open the floodgates", "say hello to our new developer of the day, Digital Homicide." :P
Also, you should change the title to "Where the hell is today's Finished Game Release ? " (or make an additional thread for this one) ;)

I hope so, but I think the same was said about regional pricing and new big-name publishers and AAA games, and we mostly just got regionally-priced indies (it seems to me). But yes, in spirit I hope this gains GOG more market share and helps them finally reel in some more games from EA, Activision, Square Enix, WB, etc.

I don't know what EA/GID has to do with any of that. The only thing GID is good for is getting some good EA games released in GOG that I don't know would happen otherwise. Yes, it's easier getting them in EA when they need the money. EA games don't sell intrinsically more than those finished. Obviously, right now that we're opening the gates of EA, there are more important ones to select from. But yes, in spirit I hope this gains GOG more market share and helps them finally reel in some more games from EA, Activision, Square Enix, WB, etc.
I'm not interested in EA games while they're in EA. But I'm happy that it will allow some games to be released here... eventually.
