We have a Japanese noodle shop in my neighbourhood that serves the former. One scarcely recognises it as related to the latter.

Ramen is basically unknown here since we around Europe eat different variations of european noodle soups. Usually here its beef soup with noodles - "Goveja juha".

That's how you can tell if it's properly made as opposed to the plastic noodles of Pot Noodles. I've found that if the noodles are produced in China/ Japan etc., it's actually tasty raw.
You can't eat the Cup Noodles raw. They're horrible and plasticky. Uggh.

It's actually a thing among the Chinese to eat them raw. Was your best friend Chinese?

Also, if you know where to buy from, you can get a hell of a lot of different flavours. And not just the generic Chicken, Curry, Beef, Pork.
My favourites are Szechuan Jah-Jian, Tom Yum, Hot and Spicy, a pink Sweet Pork? thing - I can't read Thai and Won Ton. Yum...

Edit: Oh, disappointed that the big GOG Sale didn't materialise today...

Not to burst bubbles but I don't think it's next week either. There's a Weekend Promo on the Twitch for next week as well. Soon though I would think!
