fortune_p_dawg: i think much of the enthusiasm in regards to gog's 10th anniversary is fueled by the possibility of some big name releases (civ 5, skyrim, etc) and not just the idea of cheap games. because frankly im a bit tired of sales myself but there are plenty of titles that gog doesn't have that id pick up in a heartbeat if released.

Yep, with the added possibility of a freebie game or two thrown in. I always appreciate those, even if a particular game isn't something I'd usually be interested in.

fortune_p_dawg: okay so... the new gwent game 'throtebreaker' is coming out on october 23, the same day that gog went public 10 years ago.

Interesting. I don't think they picked that date at random, more than likely they will do whatever there going to do for the anniversary then. I think a site overhaul and / or a big Galaxy update will also release around that time too, Thronebreaker / Gwent may even be making use of new features that may be added, meaning that is why they are releasing it on that specific date.

I suspect there'll be a bigass giveaway because those usually get good headlines. It'd be neat to see a permanently free game/freeware game show up too, especially a classic like OMF2097.
