ciemnogrodzianin: Wow. From all these speculations this fact looks like game changer.
To add a bit more to those previous messages, I posted these emails from GOG about it's launch in a previous aniversary thread:

So, will there be a special sale/releases or no?

I'd rather not get my hopes up for any special releases.
Something is coming. I can smell it...

GOG Twitch has tweeted that tomorrow is the International Day Against DRM and they will celebrate it with some streams in some of the languages of GOG website (Original tweet and a streamer confirming that is tomorrow the international day). Maybe GOG will mix the anniversary with the International Day Against DRM?

Looks like nothing is coming, just a delayed weekly sale.

Damn, nothing yet. Someone must have farted in my general direction... XD

But I believe we can expect something for tomorrow. GOG never celebrated International Day Against DRM, as far as I know, but with all the FCK DRM initiative thing, I guess this time will be different. Tomorrow we'll see.

I already stated that it was not me, so someone else should come forward and admit it. We don't judge people here. Right???

But on topic. Given that it's their 10th, it's gotta be something big with a big B. They can't let this opportunity slip by or they will have to wait another 10 years for a "round" birthday.

i sure hope youre right!

however, we have a relatively large release this week (bard's tale 4), and a relatively large release next week (pathfinder kingmaker) and i would guess that gog doesn't want anything interfering with those. ill bet if they do a 10th anniversary thing it'll be closer to the anniversary of the public launch of the site.

i hope im wrong tho
There is a weekly sale, so no special sale for you :)

COME BACK, ONE YEAR!!!
So... next week? :D
Oh man, if there is no sale after y'all have been hyping yourselves up for like months now...
At least I'll be entertained by the salt threads.
I'm not sure why it matters if there is one or not.

How would the alleged "10th Anniversary sale" be any different than any of GOG's other big sales? IMO it wouldn't.

The same games that have been on sale in their other big sales would also be on sale again, at around the same prices as in GOG's previous big sales.

The few ones that have a newly-large discount would have it because of those game's age, not because it is an Anniversary sale and the devs have a special sentimental attachment to GOG. And those same new discounts would also occur regardless of whether it's called the 10th Anniversary sale, or the Back to School sale, or the Fall sale, or any other name.

So why are so many people hyped as if the 10th Anniversary sale would bring something new to the table like they've never seen on GOG before?
