Think about it - EVERY SINGLE FUDGING FORUM EVERYWHERE is going to have a set of folks that disagree with how it is run. You find things to disagree with at that particular forum. So.the.fck.what. Go post someplace else where your 'style' of posting is accepted.

It's really just that simple.

Coming to some other form to 'make you case' really doesn't do anything - since, by definition, you 'case' is going to be heavily biased by you. How the fck are we supposed to just jump aboard your personal fan-train just because 'you say so'?

Think about it...

It's nothing personal. I'm not flaming you. Or trolling you. Just pointing out what to me is an obvious truth.

You don't like how a particular internet forum is moderated. Get over it. Go somewhere else to post.

Trying to make a non-existent "Federal case' out of your problem isn't going to go anywhere.

You're talking about a privately run forum by a private company.

Freedom and oppression are citizen/governmental issues. Has ZILCH to do with how a business wants to run their on forums.

TBH, IME, when someone is talking like you do - it means they're between 12 and 15 years old - and haven't yet learned all the above; and think they're personally entitled to tell someone else how to run their shit. Not saying that's the case for you (because how would I know) - just relaying my experience.

If you have a dispute with a moderator over on the witcher forums, you can start a case. What you do is inform one of the CDPR RED staff about your 'unfair' ban and appeal to be released. However often the moderators are in their rights. They get instructions from higher up as to what to allow and not allow.

227: I suppose I'm a bit biased since I post in the less heavily moderated areas of that forum and knew several of the mods when they were just regular users, but it's easy to point fingers while forgetting all of the stuff they have to constantly wade through. There aren't very many of them (and even fewer active ones), and the forum's been slammed by new users and their dumb questions/petty bickering since the third Witcher's release. Maybe OP didn't do anything terribly wrong, but the mods often try to shut down trouble before it happens, which means sometimes steering conversations with a heavier hand than some are comfortable with and banning anyone who ignores their red-text ultimatums.

Complaining about it to the higher-ups is pointless, though, since they're the ones who came up with the weirdly restrictive forum rules in the first place. The mods just enforce them.

When was that? If it was before the second game released, there's a good chance whoever it was isn't even there anymore.
Overworked, underpaid. CDPR goes a bit the cheap way by relying on untrained and unpaid forum moderators. They make millions with Witcher 3, surely they can spent a few thousands and train/pay people to moderate the fan community on a more professional level.

Of course the solution for the OP is simple. Just register with a different nickname and continue. No shame about that. Appealing to higher authorities only very seldomly changes anything.

Well technically, private companies can stop free speech. If the user agreement / TOS we tick but don't read when registering identifies it as a free speech site and to what extent, they are liable and obligated to hold it up to that extent.

Censorship can be done from non governmental bodies as well, obviously.
