Themken: Stuck in a burning house in the first act in the Shadow Warrior remake from 2013. Cannot get the door to open for me so cannot advance. Tried changing settings and replaying from the beginning, no luck. At least the graphics are working as they should unlike last time I played the game. I guess a newer graphcis card helped. Sad :-(
Thats bad , i was stuck there too , sorry it was years ago cant remember where to go. Try at the top. Maybe have to jump our or something.

Rage 2 - Did a handful of missions and got to a few arcs to get powers and weapons. Stopped playing because of all the clunky driving, might get back to playing the game, the shooting was actually fun.

Borderlands 3 - Did a few story missions and boy where do I begin...the game is a steaming pile of shit. The story is laughable, the antagonists are annoying, bland twats, there are way, way too many memes and the gunplay is at the best of times below mediocre.

Yakuza 3 - A dozen story missions in and I stopped because I don't have that much time to play at the moment. I'll start from the beginning once I have a week off or so to immerse myself in the game.

Metro: Exodus: Again, no time. Playing an hour one day and a few days later another hour destroys every chance to enjoy the story.

It is certainly so that some games are much less suitable for playing fifteen minutes now and then. For some games I make short notes about things I need to know if I return much later.

I'm doing the same. :D
I have sheets of paper lying on my writing desk that look like the scribblings of a madman (heh). :P
Ye Gods! I have so many! Worst are those that you invest several weeks, months even, playing before hitting the brick wall, either by unfair difficulty or bugs!

Heroes of Might and Magic III and V

The AI seemed to gain impossible numbers of units in it's groups even on medium difficulty levels in campaigns.
Quite a few single stand alone scenarios were the same. There was some kind of scripted AI cheating going on those.
In generated skirmish scenarios this didn't seem to happen.
So I never did complete any MoM3 or 5 campaign without cheating myself.

Independence War Deluxe

Again, many unfair scenarios would have brought this game to an end without cheat codes. The one where you had to catch a very fragile anti-matter reactor in a "nice soft catcher's mit" gravity well was one.

Independence War Deluxe 2 - Edge of Chaos

Right from mission one I had to edit a game file to give my ship a bit more oomph.
Cheat codes were still needed even when granting myself a buffed ship!
And then game the "Dagda" system. Every time you entered it (and you HAD to eventually) you got massive lag at first, then a crash. No workarounds, no help from GOG support or the internet. Had to throw this one out!

Blitzkrieg 2

Started off well, but mid-way through it's campaigns it descended into absolute madness due to the AI being allowing infinite reinforcements in every mission. In some of the DLC campaigns there were so many AI units on the screen as a result my PC just collapsed (there were at least 1000 Tiger tanks on screen at once)!
There were NO cheats for this neither. But luckily I cracked it with Cheat Engine.

Wargame European Escalation

Became impossible by even just the third scenario! Again not a cheat code in the universe, and this one was shielded against the memory editing tools of Cheat Engine. What is the problem with some game designers?

Penumbra

Gave up at one scene in which you had to slide down this narrow earth tunnel, only to get squashed everytime by an Indiana Jones type boulder.
It's slow frame rates and terrible controls did not help. The game felt like swimming in treacle.

Painkiller Black Edition

Excellent game. One of the best of it's type. Though I had to start cheating in the later maps of the "purgatory" DLC episode, but the final map with King Astaroth was still impossible, because the VERY smart-arsed desginers made that map only completable by injuring yourself - forcing the player to keep cheats off!

KKnD

Impossible even by mission #4! And as for KKnD 2, that was so f@@@ed up I got that refunded!

Conquest Frontier Wars

Got impossible at about mission #12. It was a retarded pile of crap anyway :D

Nexus the Jupiter Incident

Got impossibe at about mission #6. No cheats available, Cheat Engine also couldn't crack it. Shame, it was a promising game!

Smugglers V

Spent weeks becoming a quazillionaire...... on the promise you could start buying entire planets or somesuch god like nonsense, which was needed to finish it....... all I recall was this feature just would not trigger. Probably due to bugs. I was a poor game anyway.

Earth 2140

This was just another KKnD! Except even more retarded (and that was no mean feat), plus uber-gay soundtracks. It was like wine bar music!
Impossible even by the third missions of each campaign!

Earth 2150

This at least got to the fourth....... when it started with the 1000 tanks on screen tricks Blitzkrieg 2 did. It was an extremely laggy, ugly and dull game anyway. At least 2160 was a better game.

Commandos 1, 2 and 3

MOST. RIDICULOUS. GAMES. EVER. Well IMO anyway. I was trolled mercilessly by fanbois over this opinion. I could not even do the FIRST STEPS of the FIRST MISSIONS on these. A record "impossible within just five seconds worth of play"!
One of my biggest purchase regrets ever!

Age of Wonders 1,2 and 3

Only thanks to cheats were the campaigns in these doable. Without even by the first missions they were impossible due to the same AI "impossbly huge army" cheats HoMM3 and 5 pulled. Like them, this AI cheating was scripted in the campaign scenarios, as random skirmish scenarios did not show any such unfairness.

I'm only a fraction of the way through by GOG library here....... I'll let someone else do the talking and come back with more laters!

:D

Yeah, got nowhere in 3 either, but for me it was the hero train requirement to carry armies that got me, I didn't do that, I will not do that, just feels... wrong. Played TotE though, being stand-alone from 5, and finished it, interestingly enough.

Don't know of 3 yet, but 1, 2 and SM were doable. Got a hard but fair "vibe" out of them, likely 2 most of all. Sure, fair amount of saving and reloading in some spots, but definitely doable. Does take a certain kind of playstyle though, and seeing what works and what doesn't. Do note that much of the SM campaign isn't designed to be won by conquest, enemy armies are meant to be impossible, so you'll need to complete the specific victory goals while just staying alive long enough. But it IS possible to win by conquest as well. Very hard, but possible.
Donkey Kong Country 3 (SNES). I have gotten through most of the game and I got to the Lightning Lookout stage and I tried and tried to beat that stage for a while and then finally gave up on it and to this very day I never beat that game because of that very hard stage.

thedkm: Xcom: Enemy Unknown

I may have a good team with several high graders equipped with laser weapons and others, but no... every time I get decimated by these Cyberdisc scumbags.
Cover is essential. Move and shoot. Move and shoot. (Sniper excepted, for overwatch duty).

If you can't move to cover and shoot, move to cover.
Expendable - level 8 boss.

The main reason being that the only weapon that drops during the boss fight a shitty green railgun which has less range than I can throw a spit from my mouth. Meaning you must facehug the boss to be able to do damage to it and it has attacks which can one-shot you if you are unfortunate enough and he randomly happens to use them. What doesn't help is that I'm playing coop with my cousin (which greatly restricts the movement area) and we are out of credits. Even if one of us managed to beat the boss but one of us died, he wouldn't be able to continue playing. And the only reason I'm playing it is because of the coop. Another thing is that just to attempt the boss one more time, it takes 10-15 minutes just to get through the level before the boss fight which quickly led to me quitting.
Owlboy - Couldn't get past this Boss.
Not stuck as such, but other than The Last Days, I have as yet, to finish a single campaign of Mount and Blade. Most recently I was back at a PoP campaign from day 400ish. Got it up to 600+ and conquered all but two factions, but it’s just soooo much time to sink into it. Everything is designed to slow you down, and the AI blatantly cheats. Great game, and Pendor is a great mod, just wish there were some ways to speed things up.
Age of Wonders 3 tutorial campaign 2d mission turn around 150 ... guess i should have never started with playing normal difficulty and took the "this is a agressive game of conquest " line serious

though at the same time this would mean this game is not for me, not to be demeaning to anyone but in my head that sort of talk translates as angry white boy

Age of Wonders planetfall presents similar difficulties in play. If you don't watch out you are prone to 2 vs 1 situations very soon
