Seems to work fine for me. Plenty of good games even excluding the tags Catventurer suggested.
Until his post I didn't even know we had a "Cats" tag. That is so awesome!

Mori_Yuki: This solution, while it is good and it is working, is likely to filter games tagged: NSFW/LGBT, OP may already own, play or would be likely to purchase. Off the top of my head I can think of StarWars Knights of the Old Republic, The BG saga (old and EE/Beamdog), *A Hat in Time, Pathfinder, ...

lupineshadow: For me, Catventurer already posted the solution to this. We have no way of knowing what level of reference to LGBT might trigger the OP - maybe a rainbow is enough.
Absolutely. Besides the only other option to solve whatever OPs problem is comes from Ice_Mage Such a brilliant and supportive member!

That said, I don't worry about OP missing out on games or specific triggers, a rainbow flag hidden in a game, or content they might not like or accept. It is more about accuracy and ease of discoverability using tags as filters. If someone is interested in 百合/Lesbian VN/games that person has to scroll through 5 to 10 pages and click on each result, to find what they were looking for. A massive waste of time, specifically during sales events, where everything is mixed together from Baldur's Gate to Evenicle and A YEAR OF SPRINGS. LGBT in tag form, to me, is overbroad, and doesn't achieve what it is supposed to. The same can be argued for tags like soulslike, roguelike, metroidvania. The onlly difference between those and LGBTQ lies in the fact that, in the latter case, it can be broken down without causing issues.

By breaking it down to Lesbian, Gay, romance/sexual relationship option, Transgender or Queer - think Kitty Power's etc., not only does this reflect what's in a particular game or VN, but makes it possible to list other like titles. That's the whole point of using tags in the first place. All customers would profit from this change. Someone who doesn't like this type of content can hide it, while others looking for specific content catering to their interest, they will be able to discover it that much faster. All customers, no matter what they think or feel, like or dislike, would benefit from that small change.

When a publisher or developer thinks a game is inclusive, or if there is content not covered by tags someone might be looking for, for instance the possibility to use pronouns, alter the appearance of PC, this should be included in the marketing-blurb on the shop page. Not many do, and those who do issue a Content Warning which is not a good way to sell something even to someone interested.

Here is a random example A Year of Springs

At the bottom of the page you will find:
CONTENT WARNING
This trilogy discusses issues that people of different genders and sexualities may face, which is a topic that can be sensitive and personal.

Would be even better if it wasn't just as unreliable as all tags here.

Unfortunately, the Cats tag is super unreliable as there many more games that feature cats. Sometimes it's something small such as how the Neverwinter Nights premium module Tyrants of the Moonsea has a cat just hanging out in a building that you can miss interacting with, but then there's Godhood where you can have your followers show their devotion to you by worshiping cats.

Even Tales of the Neon Sea, where you actually play as a cat for portions of the game, doesn't have the tag. It is, however, bafflingly tagged as a "walking simulator" (it's in fact a more or less typical 2D point & click), making, I guess, every game in which your character can walk a "walking simulator".

pharaohabso: On Steam I have my content filtered to exclude sexual content, and LGBTQ among other filters. On GOG I have mandatory inclusion in pride correspondence and far too many sales pitches for Leisure Suit Larry. This inclusion extends beyond the storefront to my homepage. I was under the impression (based on GOG notices) that the homepage was a collection of things I want to see or might want to see. Nothing in my library says I like sex or LGBTQ in my games.

On June 6 2023 I reached out to GOG support, hoping to get an opportunity to ask a simple question, "What options do I have to opt-out of LBGTQ/Pride content?" I'm still waiting with no end in sight. This leaves me thinking I really only have a single choice to not purchase from GOG. I don't need video games. Absolutely nothing bad will happen if I don't buy or play another game. I don't need GOG.

I know that most of the people inclined to respond to this post are firmly planted on the good ship LGBTQ and will suffer nothing but acceptance for the lifestyle. If that's you then cool. That isn't everyone though, and there are people like myself who are unwilling to tolerate having ideologies that we don't believe in forced upon us. I'm also aware that as an individual consumer, I will not be missed and I'm fine with that. The first person to boycott Disney wasn't missed either, ditto for Bud Light and Target.

God gave us all free will. Use yours as you will, I'll do likewise. Cheers.
oh boy, are you still active, you're not banned are you. Anyway, take a look at this https://www.gog.com/forum/general/celebrate_pride_month_with_gog_4cd20/page5

The staff at gog might as well just add a new rule to the code of conduct declaring anything other than 100% positivity towards (you know what) will be met with discipline.

morolf: You've got 246 games in your account, do you really need more?
Just stop buying on Gog. They're not going to change, their site is an irredeemable mess which won't be updated to include new features, and you'll either be ignored or mocked and labeled a bigot for your request.
My support tickets are going unanswered.

Why won't GOG give me an option to filter out all games that have trees in them? I don't understand what gives GOG the idea that I'm ok with trees in games. I mean I accept their right to exist, but I personally don't agree with that lifestyle and don't want to be reminded of their existence. I'm sure many of you are fine with trees but I am unwilling to tolerate having ideologies that I don't believe in forced upon me. I do not support the leafy agenda.

Also my friend is frightened of pudding, so can we get a filter for that?

People have been asking for filters for years. Personally I'd like to filter all walking simulators and rogue-likes/lite. The fact that you're this butt hurt over this; simple request, speaks volumes of insecurity.

I'm not butthurt, I just don't want trees all up in my face. I feel like this is a fair request and similar to the OPs request. We all have different things we don't like, right?

I don't know what that is and I don't want to know. I respect your lifestyle but I want you to keep it to yourself while I'm around.
