mystikmind2000: I heard about this issue with Cyprus years ago.... its still not fixed yet??
Never will be, as long as Cyprus continues to be a haven for money laundering and credit card fraud.

JCav: But hey, I don't have to prove anything to anyone here. GoG's lost a customer over $2.49 and being unwilling to either correct the payment problem or offer me the discount price once they fixed the payment issue., since I personally verified with both banks that no such problem existed.

It certainly wasn't worth lying about, but that's the choice they made.

snowkatt: sooo if you dont have to "prove" anything to anybody here
why exactly are you raging about it here ?
take your issue with support then instead of flailling on the boards

and if you dont want to be patron of gog anymore just leave instead of making a big spectacle of it

this is just the online version of somebody yelling they wil never buy in a particular shop ever again
You either believe me, or not. I have nothing to "prove."

Support is who initially told me that it was their fault, and their payment processor who rejected it. Less than an hour later, a reply to my response claimed it was my bank that was now at fault.

I specifically inquired with both banks after that, and both rejected any notion that they refused payment for anything. I even asked about overseas transactions, and was again told that they had no problem with processing a payment for this site.

So the accusation that it was my bank after claiming it was their payment processor in the first place, is a lie.

As to my post on here, it's my prerogative if I wish to spread the word of my experience with the customer support provided or not.

uhuh
sounds more to me like you just want to bitch about it nothing more

the issue is cyprus because thats where gog is incorporated
so yes the bank is the issue
you either believe that or you do not

and since you have cleared it up with your bank you can either try again and see what happens like a reasonable adult

or pick up your toys and have a hissyfit on the forums

avatar
snowkatt: well some people just want to complain instead of fixing the issue

The good thing about this site is that anyone is free to complain.... even if it is to complain about someone else's complaint!! lol

phaolo: And for just $2.49 O_o
And easily solvable by using the Paypal option.

Yeah but, it's not nice to lie to them.

I choose not to do business with PayPal.

Obviously my complaint is primarily about the placing of blame on my financial institutions. Note the topic title.

Well... then I got nuthin'. During the sale I tried to pay direct with a card and the bank rejected the purchase, too (it was one I hadn't used here before) so I went to Paypal and that was that.

But, if you don't like Paypal then I guess that's not an option, and I would defer to some of the earlier answers.

The thing is, what does gOg gain from lying to you? The sale didn't go through so they don't get anything out of it not working. Plus it ties up some of their Support time. The conclusion of 'gOg lied' just doesn't make sense to me.
A little OT but I had to jump in and say in all my years I've never met anyone who talks like this. :P
Attention whore?
