F4LL0UT: Coming up with a nasty comment, proclaming that they've come up with it with a sentence like "I could say something now" but ultimately keeping it to themselves for some reason.
incroyable

off course people reading it wil formulate all kinds of nasty things i could have seem to be possibley saying

kinda
maybe sorta

and after that my actual comment will come off as dissapointing
liek most things in live

Cueil: I just want to be able to update my installed game without having to check my program list to make sure I have the game installed through gog.com
This is the primary reason I want Galaxy. Automatic updates would be dynamite.

BoogerMac: Sorry if I came off as a troll, that was not my intent. I mentioned Steam for comparison reasons. I wanted to know a little more about Galaxy since all I've seen is the 2-min intro video.

Thanks for clarifying everything.
Apologies, i did not mean to offend! But you cannot compare steam to gog, under any circumstances. It's like comparing fascism to communism...

F4LL0UT: Have you had a chance to try the beta yet? I didn't get in (neither into the Witcher Adventure Game beta nor did I get my free Aliens versus Predator) and have no idea about its current state.
I have both, and your really not missing much. It's literally just a launcher that can auto update a game and that's it. No options at all. Only thing your trying really is there MP servers, in which case from what I have seen work as well as one could expect for MP servers.

soo...... are gOg the fascists or the commies?

and off course it is possible to compare 2 different game clients. Don't be silly.

Actually that's a perfect example for two things you CAN compare.

At least I hope that Galaxy will offer similar download/upgrade functionalities like the Steam Client. It would be nice to be able to install from already downloaded files as an alternative.

Anyway, I am looking forward to Galaxy and can hardly wait for the beta.
Well, so long as the client will be ready by the time Witcher 3 releases I'll be happy, as I'm considering picking up the DRM-free version.

Handling updates, installations, and game management are the core features I'd like to have ready, and the social would just be a bonus.

I agree.

Crosmando: It will be buggy as shit on release.
Maybe, but hopefully what bugs dare to crawl out will be quickly squashed. ^_^
(And since the client is optional, any bugs won't block access to content.)

The Galaxy multiplayer test of AvP has gotten me excited about the future, can't wait to see what else they use the Galaxy multiplayer code/module/launcher/whatever-it-is on.

Or am I mistaken about the original MP method used by AvP being substituted for a new one made by GOG during that test?
I want GOG/Galaxy supported multiplayer for Syndicate Wars, damn that would be great.
I'd also like to know how games bought and installed prior to the addition of the client will make the transition - if the game will require some update or whether the client will ask the user to scan their directory or somesuch.
i don't really care when, but i hope it will be great :)
I can see that I have the GalaxyClient installed after installing The Witcher Adventure Game. When I try to launch the GalaxyClient.exe, nothing happens. Is there more info about Galaxy?

it's not the full client, it's just a part of it for the game : most likely auto update & mp part (just a guess)
