Scattersweithe: Hopefully it will never be released. I don't need another Steam-like client.
This guy. He knows what's up. :P

It's simple really, then don't use it. Someone complaining about an optional client they don't have to use. Go figure, and it's already released. It's here to stay and not going away... so get over it. Many people prefer a client.

i got a pretty good deal on GOG for the witcher 3. 15 dollars less than on steam so i am pretty happy with GOG (got it for 30$ )
As I see it:
The only problem with Galaxy is that it is used for Digital Right Minimization on multiplayer.
as far as I know several titles require log in on it it. For any kind of multi-play, even LAN.
So when GOG and galaxy one day is dead and gone. These titles can only run single player (unless modded).

Remember no one expected that GameSpy wold ever shut down. But it did.
No one expected 3DO to shut down. Sierra, Origon created worlds (EA destroyed them)...
I guess most gaming companies will likely come to and end. It is just a matter of time.

For single player. It do not matter at all.
For multiplayer it matter a LOT.

Galaxy might officially be in beta and not jet released. But for multiplayer the DRM in it is very much alive (on some titles).
Thus effectively released now.

Please correct me if I am wrong here. I really really hope and which I am.

Regards and have a nice day.

You are absolutely right,no doubt about it.But Galaxy fits me right, because i see it purely as frontend since i only play singleplayer. So no problem for me for instance

If MS can hold their latest OS in permanent beta (euphemistically called "rolling release" and "SAS" - and some parts feel like alpha ware...) it's suddenly less attractive to complain about Galaxy at all...
