I don't have much experience with "gaming" mice. All I need from a good mouse is a comfortable grip and smooth motion tracking, and my DeathAdder seems to be fairing well in that department. After all, I've been using this same mouse for almost a decade now without complaints. That's the longest I've ever stuck with a mouse, and if this one should ever die on me I'm likely just to replace it with a newer version. Yeah, it's a bit no-thrills but I don't need or want anything extravagant/overly fancy. What it does do it does very well.

Matewis: Can't remember the name unfortunately but it was a logitech and you could put these tiny weights into a little compartment to give it a comfortable weight. It worked wonderfully until the cable gave in from bending too sharply in transit one too many times. I'll definitely go for a cordless next time.

ariaspi: You should get a mouse bungee. I have a Zowie Camade - it's a bit expensive for such a simple device, but it's really worth it, and theoretically it should be extremely reliable.
Cool that looks like it could work yes, but for the extra money I'd rather invest in a better wireless. I don't have a fancy mouse at the moment but it is wireless and I've gotten very used to not having to deal with an extra wire on my desk :P
OT, but regarding hardware, can anyone recommend some good PC speakers?

I would recommend Logitech's Z series if 2.1 or surround is what you want. Else, Creative Gigaworks T20/T40 Series II (2.0). Really good speakers. But then again it really depends on what you mean by good...

nothing too outrageous. 2 speakers and sub woofer preferably. I think I'm looking for more sound quality, no crackling. I don't need to feel like I'm in a movie theater where you can feel the explosions.
Never owned a "real" gaming mouse, they are way too ugly for my taste usually.

Mainly using a Logitech MX510 for like, 10 years? Still working fine but its a lot less precise compared to my second one, which is a pretty new vertical mouse. But that one feels really awkward for playing games ;)
Will probably keep the MX until it breaks. Wished the 518 was still available.

A cable to your music amplifier.... cheap and much better sound than what you would get from those pitiful pc loudspeakers.
Since I move around a lot, I need a mouse that works everywhere, on any types of surface. I used to have a Logitech Anywhere MX, but got tired of buying batteries so I moved to the Anywhere MX2. It's fairly ok, but on Linux at least it doesn't has any low battery notification which sometimes forces me to plug it in while playing. The battery lasts for about 2 weeks.
Thunder TM50, but requires quite a lot of modding, also
Zalman ZM-M600, a bit lower grade sensor than TM50, but worth it.

Laser is trash, I had many laser, linear acceleration is inprecise.
Wireless is trash, I had tons of wireless, it adds ~10ms-30ms lag to input, also insecure.
Any mouse with subpar sensor is trash.
Label on the mose plays no role, its all down to hardware.
Logitech G602. I am a casual gamer, it suits my needs for all kinds of single player games. Also turned out to be practical as I move a lot. And looks neat.

That's what I do too. I have my sound card connected to a small Lepai amp which is driving two bookshelf speakers. It sounds good and was inexpensive.
since buying an amp and two speakers would be the same, or more than buying some pc speakers, not to mention I know shit about hooking stuff up, lets just stick with the pc speakers. :P

Any other suggestions?

Huff: Logitech MX518 but sadly it died (and its no longer made) so I replaced it with a Logitech G502 (more 'bells and whistles', but still not as good as the MX)
Another vote here for the Logitech MX 518. Now I use a G402.
Back on topic to the question in the opening post: the best gaming mouse I have used is my current Steelseries Sensei [RAW]. It's big enough for my hands (my hands are average-sized male hands and I like a big mouse that can rest in my palm), It's precise, it works good without using any of the options - that can be ignored easily - I hate tweaking a mouse. And above all it's durable. I expect this mouse to last me for quite some years still. Most fluid mouse in use I had was the Razer Copperhead, but both that one and the second hand Copperhead I bought when it broke down only lasted me 2-3 years before they broke down.

If you want a Steelseries Sensei though, you got to search well, as it's no longer in production.
