Ghorpm: That's actually a proof of my point of view :) Around 1900 Max was working on the blackbody radiation theory. It's well known that during this time he rarely slept and drank a lot of coffee. That's why he looked like this. But you see, that was a serious project, and he didn't take any breaks during it. Me and my friends do a lot of silly experiment just to give ourselves a rest. I don't want to look like this at age 43 :)

Don't worry I have a life, family :) As I said: a silly experiment is a very good way to relax and regenerate before doing something more serious. I know most people think we are nerds without a life to live, but let me assure you it's not like that. Each person engaged it that experiment has a family and nobody's spouse is a physicist.

Try it :) If it's stupid but it works, it ain't stupid ;)

Not for me but the dev's and the answer is yes it would work.You just need to think about it,for a while.

The only unanswerable question at this point is what somebody who's intelligent and logical enough to have a job as a physicist is doing here on the forum. I thought the IQ cutoff was 85.

I don't think anybody with IQ>85 would analyze the dirt on a keyboard, would he? ;P

Well, skin is never perfectly clean (eg: sweat, dead cells, everything you touch, etc..)
After time & use, something remains on the keyboard (also dust).

I prefer a black keyboard (with some protection layer?), plus I clean it regularly.

To clean this mess you can either go the hard way with alcohol and those sticks you use for cleaning your ears,

or (to be used with caution as it does not work for all keyboards)

you remove the keys from the keyboard, it is a bit like with the dentist, you can either carefully pull them or use good old lever force to remove them, put them into a big towel, so that they do not touch each other and wash them with your clothes in the washing machine on low temperature though. BUT not very producer does have a good paint on the keys, so it might diminish quicker. But you can also use this method to clean them easier with alcohol.

Plus when you removed the keys you can remove the dirt just below them as well.

Possible as well ;)

But as a lot of people (I know 2) just want to use it straight away again and are unaware off that they might destroy the keyboard or USB-port with it. Hence I never suggest it openly ;)
