Not particularly odd, just questionable: Using a 4-year old laptop for everything instead of my vastly more powerful desktop computer that has been lying around for a long time (still in its box). The laptop is being unprofessionally held together with McGyver tape after it fell to the ground a year or two ago. Tripped over headphone cable...so now I'm using bluetooth headphones that are the only high-end item in my setup.
To avoid overheating, I've propped up the back edge of the laptop on two vinyl erasers (there's a ton of art supplies lying around on the desk anyway so I have redundancies). Connecting the laptop to the net via a smartphone that never leaves the house because I'm so used to carrying around an old no-frills Nokia. The smartphone was a gift so now it's my router. I took the smartphone outside once but using Google maps on the go slowed me down more than it was helpful so I'm back to my old ways.

The odd thing about my computer is that the keyboard is more valuable than the rest of the computer hardware put together. (It's a switched keyboard from 1997, and I saw the same model selling without the box for £50 recently. Everything else that comprises this computer came in a package that cost me £36 a few years ago).

My gaming laptop sits on a stack of 2 medium-sized Lego bins positioned diagonally at the foot of my bed. When I get inspiration to make use of plates or technic to build or modify a model, I put the laptop on the bed.

That's awesome. He did do a couple of World War 1 & 2 turn based dogfighting games. They weren't all that & felt aimed at the mobile market (I think they might have been on ios) but they're kinda indie.

I also have a PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360 and Wii but they don't see a lot of use as of last year as I sold most of my consolegames as the ever increasing collection started to get on my nerves and mostly use emulators for PS1 and 2 and have modded my PS2 and must still get around to modding my Xbox.

I also have an older PC that is in my study and I don't use very much, but it has a modified PS3 eye camera for headtracking (I also have a tracking cap) and two thrustmaster T.16000M joysticks (one lefthand and one righthand) to play Elite: Dangerous or flightsimulators. I also bought a Logitech G29 with a wheelstand but after an hour of use I remembered why I don't like steeringwheels and I'm a lot better with my gamepad so I will be selling that in the future.

But wait, there's more! My old non-gaming desktop sits on a wooden board shin-high under the desk, next to my PlayStation 3. But the computer is a little too big to sit entirely on the wood and is prone to fall off if a cat wants to sit on it. I partly support it with a 2-by-3 stack of mint-condition chair cushions that I saved from a dumpster.

I have a "man cave" where my desk and PC are next to a TV stand and television, so I can swap display outputs for controller games. That's about it really.

My mouse scroll wheel is partially broken. It will scroll, but it won't middle click.

Rather than buy a new mouse, I've remapped one of the extra buttons on the mouse to perform the middle click.

Remarkably, I never seem to press the wrong middle click button when switching between different computers and non-broken mice.

DPI up and DPI down are the default bindings.

DPI up becomes middle click
DPI down became DPI toggle (scroll through in ascending order and wrap around to the bottom)

I find changing mouse DPI has a use in tuning mouse speed in older games. It allows me to experiment on the fly without having to exit play to configure it.
