Inspired by the "What will be the first release in 2017?" threads, here is a competition giveaway to predict what will be the first game (or movie!) released in February this year.

Rules:

_ Each of you can select 3 games. If the first release in February is one of those games, you win. If no one guesses the first release, we check the second release and so on and so forth till... the end of April (3 months). If by that time no one selected a single game that was released, then we are all a bunch of losers and no one deserves to win.

_ The winner gets a single 10$ (or less) GOG game.

_ In order to encourage participation, you may do whatever you want with the game you win. Gift or trade with it. So even if you don't need a 10$ game, please participate. There is no shortage of people you can gift the game to. In fact you can select another participant and gift it to them.
I thought about having the game itself as a prize, but the release might be a game too expensive for me. Plus I want you to predict games you think will appear, not necessarily games you want to have.

_ Movies count.

_ Games that were in catalogue already but were removed, do count.

_ Pre-orders don't count.

_ In-development doesn't count. I dislike early access so I'm not counting them as a realease.

_ You may not select any game that is already in pre-order or in-development or in the Upcoming tab at the time of your post.

_ You must make your selection by Jan 31st. Once you make your selection you may not change it, except if your game gets released in January, in which case you can substitute it with another one.

_ To encourage early posting (and since posting late in January might give you an edge), if 2 or more participants select the correct game, random.org will be used to select the winner. However the probability of winning will be proportional to the number of days between your post and the release date.
e.g. Adaliabooks, Bookwyrm627 and Chevkoch pick the winning game. Adaliabooks made his post 15 days before release, Bookwyrm627 made his 10 days, while Chevkoch made his only 3 days before the game was released. In that case, the ratio of probabilities of their winning will be 15:10:3 respectively.
This means I choose a random number between 1 and 28, if it's 1-15 Adaliabooks wins, if it's 16-25 Bookwyrm627 wins and if it's 26-28 Chevkoch wins.

_ Anyone with a Registered Date of 2016 or earlier may enter, regardless of rep. Exceptions will be made for scammers and trolls* (*and that means trolls, not "people I dislike", so no matter whether I like you or not and no matter what topics you made in gamersgate, political or other controversial threads you are welcome to join; only genuine trolls will be excluded). If however you are a member I've never seen before, I might ask you to show me some of your posts here or otherwise prove to me that you're not an alt of a scammer.
PLEASE KEEP IT FRIENDLY HERE. If you have any issues with eligibility, PM me first.

_ I'm joining because I like participating. And the rules and winning criteria are transparent anyway.
If I get involved in a random.org selection, I'll ask a neutral member in good standing to make the selection for us.
My picks are:
Genewars
Alice
Max Payne

Resident Evil
Star Wars Episode I: Racer
Fallout 3
Nice idea for a giveaway :)

What's the score on the various games from the Unofficial release thread?
There is a higher chance of those games appearing (presumably anyway) so it might be a little unfair to pick them...

I thought about that but:
_ You still have to guess which will come first.
_ There is a higher chance of those games appearing. But also a higher chance of someone else picking them too (thus making your winning chance smaller).
_ It would be too complicated to create a system that would give you "less points" for picking them. And excluding them completely wouldn't be fair either.

So... all these are fair game.

Also, I just remembered, I'll add another rule: Games that were in catalogue already but were removed, do count.

True :)

Well, before anyone else does:

The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion (!1!11!)
Warbreeds (One I'd like to see, but no idea how probable it is)
ADOM
Question: What about an "In Development" game, that leaves "In Development"? Is that a release?
Cool idea for a giveaway, and thanks for running it. I'm in with:

Dark Messiah of Might & Magic
Mass Effect
Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth

Yes. As soon as it leaves the pre-order/in-dev stage and becomes a normal game it counts as a release.

But... remember, you cannot include any game that is already in pre-order or in-dev at the time of your post.
