Orwell appears to come as two base games (or seasons), though interconnected and episodal.

Clearly you can buy each independently, but one version seems to include both.

https://www.gog.com/game/orwell_ignorance_is_strength_seasons_complete

However, it is not clear if they are the full versions - with all episodes?

If it is, then it seems to be a pretty good buy at the current price, despite the soundtracks not seeming to be included ... can always get them later, separately.

P.S. The information on the game page appears to be out-of-date, as does the information on the pages it links to, especially the second season one ... which does not indicate at all, if all 3 episodes are included.

https://www.gog.com/game/orwell_ignorance_is_strength

Even if you visit the deluxe version of the second season, it is still not clear what you are getting, as it too is old news.

https://www.gog.com/game/orwell_ignorance_is_strength_season_2_deluxe

The episodes are mentioned, but everything relates to the future, which has been and gone as far as the timeline is concerned, but no update to show that episodes were indeed released on schedule and are now included in each version.

Mmmm ... quite why the game is currently on sale I don't really know, as the powers-that-be don't really seem to care about what you do or don't know about the game ... which is not very encouraging. :(
It looks like https://www.gog.com/game/orwell_ignorance_is_strength_seasons_complete this package has both the first and second game and none of the fluff (digital extras etc). The deluxe has the fluff but only the second game. I would buy the seasons complete package.
If you want the genuine experience, just move to the UK or main EU countries.
Wow, certainly confusing. I hate it when games tend to have lots of different editions and made it pretty hard to tell what exactly each of them includes (or doesn't include).

Funny that while they are all on sale, buying "Ignorance is Strenght" alone costs more than buying the "full seasons" package that includes both "Ignorance is Strenght" and the first Orwell game.
Well it's "Ignorance is Strength", they're just being really strong in their description of the game

Yes, you are not really telling me anything i don't know or couldn't read for myself.

Like I said in my first post though, it is not very clear what you are getting with that version ... other than some variation of the two seasons - (1) Orwell and (2) Orwell: Ignorance Is Strength.

Does each season contain every episode?

(1) Orwell - supposedly has several episodes. But no game page for Orwell, on its own or with Ignorance is strength, make it clear what is included ... especially as the date is old, and episodes were released bit by bit.

(2) Orwell: Ignorance Is Strength - has 3 episodes, but once again old dates, prior to the later episode releases.

Why can't these developers make things perfectly clear and plain? And why doesn't GOG make sure they do?

Are the games on here for show or for us to buy?

It's not much to ask for clarity, but it becomes a teeth pulling exercise all too often.

I try to never assume anything, when intending to spend my money.
See the product page of the Complete: About: Includes Orwell
and Orwell: Ignorance is Strength.
Also, gog usually sells episodic games as a Season Pass/Complete package, so I guess they have all episodes.

Mmmm, I saw those pages before I posted this topic question, and I have just been back again, in case changes were made since. Nope, looks exactly the same and missing the same data I keep asking about.

It is not made clear that all episodes are included. Not on those links you provided, which I previously posted in my first post, or in the other version pages. Or if I am entitled to other episodes, without paying more.

What GOG does or does not usually do, is not enough. If the title said complete Seasons/Episodes, then yes I could take that as sufficient. However, without that, I am not in the habit of giving out money based on a best guess.

It could just as easily be only Episode 1 of both Seasons. Stranger things have happened here at GOG, and it could be some time before i get around to checking, so I want to be sure, in writing, what is included.

Even starting this topic, I have gone beyond what I should need to do as a potential customer. In a very real way, just showing this much interest is doing them a favor. If i pay them money, then definitely. However, even if I eventually buy the game(s) it still remains to be seen whether I have been done any favors.

Honestly, one should not have to go fishing like this.

I am determined, that in two days and some 8 hours, when the sale price finishes, all those versions will be removed from my wishlist. The powers-that-be have from now until then, to determine how I do that.

Talk about causing negative feelings ... jeez.

Oh well, at the end of the day, they are only just games ... take them or leave them. :P

I make it easy for you. Since I bought exactly this
https://www.gog.com/game/orwell_ignorance_is_strength_seasons_complete
a few days ago I can confirm that you get all episodes of both seasons if you buy this. It will be added as two separate games in your library each containing every episode.

But I do agree: they should include something like "contains all X episodes" on the store page. The only thing that actually says something like Season pass is "Seasons complete" in the title of the product itself.

5 episodes for season 1 and 3 episodes for season 2 is the complete package.
Despite having fewer episodes, I don’t feel like season 2 is much shorter than season 1.

Thank you kindly sir, much appreciated. :)

Yes, I wasn't sure if 'Seasons Complete' was just a backward way of saying 'Complete Seasons'. You never know sometimes, when dealing with stores where English is not the only language, and the store is located in a non English country.

Alas I cannot credit you with the solution too.

I can now doubly confirm, at least for Season 2.

Season 1, Orwell, is a smaller download at 261 Mb, as listed on the Game page. No Changelog.
Season 2, Ignorance Is Strength, is larger at 565 Mb, as listed on the Game page.
In the Changelog for Season 2, Episodes 2 and 3 are listed as being added.

So perhaps Season 2 only seems a bit shorter?
If file size is any indicator, it should be longer ... twice as long.
But I know that is not always the case, especially with games developed years apart.
With this type of game though, unless it is just down to better quality graphics in the Second Season, you would think there was indeed more to the second season.

Did research here earlier
